Well it is horrible stuff for bits sticking to it but hopefully not. I don't really like this carpet stuff if I'm honest but it's the easiest to use to cover panels etc. I had considered vinyl but it's expensive and unforgiving of mistakes.
I'd never put vinyl on walls etc, it just encourages condensation, much better to have a 'flock/carpet' type covering - we had plastic moulded panels in our campers which could get a bit of condensation on at times. Our Carthago has flock/carpet on all areas including the ceiling and it's certainly nicer to the touch and not condensation on it at all even when hubby's just let the steam out of the pressure cooker!Well it is horrible stuff for bits sticking to it but hopefully not. I'm quite partial to haddock....so bring some chips with it.Tam, you are doing a bloody fantastic job there, I don't give praise easily but in your case I can't give you enough for the massive transformation you've achieved ... hopefully this one will be a keeper for a good few years, if not I'm gonna get a nice big haddock from the local docks and come round and give you a good slapping with it!
The paintwork looks pretty good in your photos, seems to have a shine ?I'm quite partial to haddock....so bring some chips with it.
The intention for now is to keep this van a few years. If all goes well that won't change. Only thing that will cause me to sell it is if I encounter problems with it that are hard to overcome. It will be an ongoing work in progress as I want to restore all the underside etc too, and will need to do something with the paintwork on it. But for now it is what I wanted and I think it will be a good van to travel with.

It does but where the stickers were is visible and the silver bit is a bit worn. I'll see how it looks when polished up but I'm contemplating something like this but betterThe paintwork looks pretty good in your photos, seems to have a shine ?
You're going 'stealth' then......It does but where the stickers were is visible and the silver bit is a bit worn. I'll see how it looks when polished up but I'm contemplating something like this but better View attachment 787595
Well mine won't be yellow and the silhouette would be dark grey rather than black ...and I did say I want it better than that... more detailed and more forest. But yeah I'd prefer that than usual camper van graphics in vinyl .You're going 'stealth' then......
Looks B awful!
Well I'm self critical at times. There's still a few bits to do to finish it off.Wow what a transformation
Post 9210 - "Quite pleased with the outcome" - you're a hard man to please Tam.

I love individual vans, they tend to have interesting people with them…

I planned to spend 2 or 3k on it . Probably be much the sameTam, when you started I know you did not expect the unforeseen but what was your guesstimate on costs to get the van ready to go out travelling & what do You think the spend will be now your well on the way
It was not supposed to be about your age it was about the hill you had to climb with the workyes but you are well over the hill

Not sure if I'll ever return to Morocco. Certainly not in the next few years. I'm hoping I might find someone to paint it in MoroccoEnjoyed watching you transform your motorhome ,what a great job you have done.
You will have to get yourself back to Morocco to get the graphics done!

If you don't use Morocco as a schengen calendar reset button what will be your alternative, we personally are going to Asia in jan/feb/march (without the motorhome), obviously this is not a option for yourselve with the dogs. Feck ...Turkey I meant TurkeyIt will be difficult if your not going!
