Tam n pups winter trip 2022

Is the bed length-wise down the van or do you sleep across the van?
If length-wise you will need a removable headboard to stop your pillow disappearing in the night!
I assume if length-wise you would sleep with feet up the shallowest end!?
Otherwise the van is starting to look very good.
Best wishes to mum.

It's sideways but there is a board that goes along the back. I have it stripped off at the minute as its to get covered

Goodness what a couple of days make  It's looking so good now and with your Mum on the mend that's one less thing to worry about.
Very pleased for you Tam.

Where do you get that fabric for the walls, and is it just spray glued on?
Chinese shops sell it here in Spain. I did my walls, doors etc; in that grey colour but used a light brown for the ceiling. Never thought yo look on ebay.

Tam, I know this one has been a stressful ordeal but with your determination & skill you should take up refurbishing various types of vans as I’m sure there’s a market out there where people would be prepared to fund the refurbishment of either vans they already own & have not done anything with or bought one that needs a total refurb

It’s looking great Tam, maybe a blessing in disguise that you had to strip back so far. I am so glad that it was sorted before your recent worries about Mum started as it could have dragged you down. A big thumbs up to funsters for keeping you going and giving you a place to vent but special thanks to funster mackeellan for actually turning up and helping you “over the hump”.

Aye I'd have been recovering all these panels anyway as I noticed when I bought how much a mess they were. The damp just set me back a few weeks , still a lot of other stuff to sort out with it but it's looking a lot better.

mackeellan was a big help with the wood stuff and Razamataz Helped with the windows which sped things up a bit . Uncle Lenny HB is also on hand with the electrical advice as trying to plan out my solar/lithium install too.

Once this interior work is done I'm wanting to sort out the few jobs needing done to get it motd , then I'll start sorting the new electrics etc

What a great job; such a transformation.

Will you have to hoover the ceiling now? 😉

Ian
Well it is horrible stuff for bits sticking to it but hopefully not. I don't really like this carpet stuff if I'm honest but it's the easiest to use to cover panels etc. I had considered vinyl but it's expensive and unforgiving of mistakes.

And the bonus

To reseal all windows, skylights ,seams , replace kitchen vent with a fiamma fan , repair the wall with new insulation and wood and recover all the wall and ceiling panels etc

sealant £110
wood and insulation £52
second hand vent £45
lining carpet and spray adhesive £92

Total cost £299

Obviously there's a lot of hours labour went in to it but I'm quite pleased with the outcome.
