Tam n pups winter trip 2022

Second night in a row we've had a visit from the police wanting us to move to a town or campsite ....for our safety.

Second time we've said we can't move as we've had a drink and they say OK you can stay.

Check passports ,take photos ask when we entered Morocco then they leave.

They are pleasant enough but I wish they'd do it earlier.

Got 5 sheperds this morning for breakfast club . Complete contrast to the 2 sisters the other day, these 5 are scared and won't come near , if you walk towards them they get up and leave, no aggression or barking they've just obviously been chased off by many. They aren't starving at least and they go back and forth to the food and water I've left them . One looks like a goldy retriever.

Wind turbines?! Haven’t seen much solar in your pics…have you come across much of it

Really came on just to say thanks for fantastic pics!
I've seen a few solar farms but very small and very few , there was one huge one at ouzarzate that you can see on Google, very sophisticated but we were told by a local that was supplying the UK...not sure how correct that is

Just had to go release a dog that some absolute w@£ker had tied up to protect his scrap metal , I had heard it howling so went to see if it was in trouble.

I found it tied with wire and pallet strapping to a lump of scrap metal ...no shelter ,no water and just a few scraps of very old dry bread . So I untied it and set it free ....probably the friendliest one of all of them round here.

The people in this country annoy me with their treatment of animals ..

Wasn't very good at its job if it let you walk up to it and loose it.

Hi Tam,
Brilliant trip. Just wondering what was so dangerous the police had to warn you and suggest you moved?
Two female tourists were beheaded in 2018 as they camped in the Atlas mountains. The Police are doing their job by advising it is safer to go onto campsites. God forbid anything ever happens to Tam or his friends but the Police will have photos and evidence for the courts that while they were on duty, they visited them and warned them they could be in danger.

O dear he travels a lot he knows what his doing I'm sure he is going day by day feeling safe
Probably the scariest bit of the trip is reading some of the comments on here

I always wonder if they are trying to steer the tourists to campsites to extract some more sheckles and wonder why you would be any safer if they are 'manned' by semi retired wardens like they have at Caravan Club sites in the UK. It just rounds people up and makes it easier for the 'baddies' to find them.

Nothing to be honest, I've never felt unsafe or in danger anywhere in Morocco, I think it's because they are trying to boost tourism and they don't want to take the chance of anything happening to tourists and maybe getting bad publicity or something

The campsite that was near here was also closed so the only place they suggested we park was in the centre of town near the supermarket. Personally I feel safer in the wilds than I ever would in a town centre . Also I tell them each time I have 3 dogs, I don't mention the baseball bat , 2 axes , a machete and the various knifes lol 😁🤣

Better to be safe than sorry! (y)

Pics from yesterday, Martin is a rock hound and mineral collector so we had visited a guys house in midelt who mines agrigates etc in the atlas , Martin bought a whole load of stones from him and I swapped a sleeping bag for a tray of very nice minerals...I'll probably give them away as souvenirs to friends and family . We then found a wild spot not far from a lake to spend last night , Internet has been sketchy

Moving today to azrou and the cider forest and monkeys

Make sure stuff is well battened down or remove it otherwise the monkeys will have it! Lost the trim round an overcab window of a hire MH many years ago to the flaming things.

And the look! 6’odd tall, tattoos, dark glasses, facial jewels, built like brick S##thouse, Scottish accent and probably growls as he spends so much time communicating with dogs,l reckon any scrote takes to the dessert thinking this guy might be the one to do me in and bury me.😂😂😂😂
