Tam n pups winter trip 2022

Gib use GBP so should be not be any charges.

A needle normally works on the sim tray, just try a few different thickness ones.
Aye I know gib does but I think lobster is Spanish registered ...it says Madrid.

But the woman I spoke to was in gib , the payment this time seems to have been taken in pounds so maybe it will be OK.

Quite a good deal £10.47 for 18gb and unlimited calls n texts but currently 55gb a month till end of February. And I can use it in UK and a load of other countries too .

I thought all the engines were FIAT
No the 3.0 Ducato is an Iveco engine (see pic) I've had 3 of them over the years, and they're fantastic and chain driven 👍 and as Tam Northernraider says the 2.3 is also Iveco although belt driven unfortunately 🤷‍♂️

VM Motori design and build engines for a lot of manufacturers they are a subsidiary of Fiat.

VM Motori is another subsidiary company of Fiat. They produce diesel engines that have been used in vehicles such as; Chevrolet Cruze, Alfa-Romeo, Range Rover, Ford Scorpio, Toyota Land Cruiser, Chevrolet Colorado and Maserati's.

Yeah Jackie said that

But guess what? In all the shite I carry around with me I don't have a paperclip . She's coming back here around 5ish anyway so I'll borrow hers .
No paper clip....just what sort of motorhomer travels without a paper clip....,,🤔👍🇪🇦

Finally got my sim tray out and what a pain. ... I only have 2 slots so if I fit a 2nd sim I lose my sd card which I have all my music and photos stored on . Jackie's phone she bought here in Spain has 2 sim slots and an sd slot .

Mine which is 4 times the price has one or the other ...😏

Safety pin in your 1st aid kit
Safety pin and needles wouldn't work I tried all sorts . Finally got it out with the pin Jackie got with her new phone the other day . Taking her old iPhone to the guy I bought sim from tomorrow to see if he can fix her charge port .

It's strange that the iveco web site say they get their engines from FIAT international.

Ach who knows , but I know when you buy parts for them it's always known as iveco engines rather than fiat . Even the 2.8jtd uses loads of iveco parts . Different noise from them too , I find the fiat's to be much more rattly engines.

Everything electrical is playing up tonight, I had a perfect TV signal last night , I've not moved today yet I can't get a single channel , I've now tuned the TV 8 fecking times and still nothing.

And I'm trying to use up the data on my lebara sim downloading a few movies before I get them to cancel it and everything is going ridiculously slow .

I'm in the same spot I was yesterday ...

Yes that true. Its very confusing these days. They all share parts and engines. Our car is a Peugeot 1.6hdi. It seems its made by Ford. My stepdaughter has a mini 1.6D and that has a Peugeot engine apparently. A Peugeot engine made by Ford?
It seems its very expensive to develop engines and other major parts so they all share the costs

What intitially made me think that the Iveco engines were related to FIAT was that they both had a 2.3 and both had a 3.0.

Like you say it's irrelevant really but the original comment was on response to a post saying that the MH that was 3.0 was somehow better because it had the Iveco engine.

Who knows:wait:

I think that's because the iveco engines do tend to be more durable than the fiat.

But that said the 3.0l used in the ducato is an expensive engine to maintain . Parts are horrendous .

Given the choice when buying a motorhome I'd much rather have a merc engine if I'm honest it's just been a case if buying what was available at the time.

It's a shame sprinters are so bloody narrow as if I don't build the vario and I decide to buy another van when I sell this one I would once again prefer a merc powered one but there isn't as much choice out there

The reason I was told you can get English tv that far south sometimes is because it's coming from Gibraltar not the UK.
I had a place near where you are and needed a massive satellite dish to pick up the uk tv channels but a long time ago the moved the footprint of the satellite to beam just over the uk and after that none of the brits could get anything from the uk. You must have been lucky the other day.

I'm not tuning in to UK TV just the Spanish stuff from my £8 indoor TV ariel , which is normally really good . But sometimes it throws a wobbly like its doing tonight and won't pick up anything

Now that's pretty , I'm not generally a big fan of modern sports cars as I prefer classic and yank tanks but that looks nice especially in that colour . Not that I'd refuse one like but give me a nice classic ferrari or a mustang gt350 or something 🤪

Sorry misunderstood
No worries , this mh doesn't have an Ariel on the roof or anything. So I've just a wee cheap airiel I bought online which is remarkably good in the UK and I've Neen picking up 10 to 30 TV channels here usually of which I can get 5 or 6 that play English programmes that have selectable language on ...paramount network , dmax , etc . Usually can get a few old movies that way . But not working tonight which is very weird

I know it might sound silly but the aerial hasn't loosened, or fallen out of the TV has it? (Just by you moving about in the van).
Only suggesting this from experience! Mine does it regularly as it's so slack when I push it in the TV.
Any advice on how to tighten it is welcome!😉

He hasn't got a sat dish he is using terestral TV.

LENNY ! you're needed Lenny HB

Do they use DVB2 in Spain ?
If your ariel is powered, are you sure it's still got power ?
It's just this wee thing , I posted about it months ago when I bought it , usually its fantastic . I was picking up 70 odd channels in Ireland with it. Loads at home all the free view stuff . In Spain I usually get all the free ones some if which I can get the original language filmed in .

It's still getting power etc just not getting any dvb channels
