Tam, Jade and Franky's European Adventure

Shhhhhh I was asked to keep this location on the hush hush

And with good reason ...wiyh exception of my stalkers there's been very few vehicles up here and zero campers :)

I did have to open and close a few gates though :p
I love Google maps and Street view. ;)

It’s a very big reservoir and looks like it’s been very low for some years, Is the canal outside dry then Judith ?
The people I spoke with said 7 years ago it covered a lot of those little islands in the middle , but it's been low for a good few years

It's been almost dry three times this winter, including this week, but yesterday it had some water in it again. As it's being used it's not getting refilled as quickly as it should! There have been some puddles near the bridges where the fish have collected and some have managed to survive.

The reservoir is the lowest we've seen it, never seen that car in it before!!!

What surprised us was when we had the floods in December 2016 and we saw streams running that we hadn't seen before, the level in the reservoir didn't rise. We cycled along there to look and we were disappointed :(

Be careful parking there....I fish that lake during the winter..my car had been tampered with while I was away from it on more than one occasion....I now only go on my scooter which I can get nearer to the waters edge.

that reservoir looks very empty considering winter and the rain is diminishing now,
They are all low. The one above Lorca the level has fallen 5 metres since September. & what rain? Second year we have virtually had nothing. Not that we usually get much anyway.

I thought there had been quite a bit of rain too ....it seems to follow me

Just googled it ....i will be down that way but not for a while yet.

I'll bare it in mind though thanks

The beaches north of Tarifa are beautiful and well worth a visit. Great to sit and watch the many kitesurfers who go there. And its so much less developed than the south and east coasts. Good luck on Friday with the dogs. Are we opening a book on how likely you are to adopt?

I think so it's basically just past the monestary turn left and on the road up to Jesus I'm parked in on the right hand side :)

Currently lying on a concrete picnic table cooking in the sun

There's 3 little dogs I like the look of but will depend on how they are in person. I'm still quite nervous to adopt one in case it wrecks the van lol ....but I will see

You can be sure it's not something I'm doing off the cuff lol it's a big commitment so I want to get it right.

And it has to be small enough to ride on the bike and scooter if need be.

Soooo. Not at Jesus!

You can walk up there looking at the statues of the Stations of the Cross OR you can cycle, scoot or drive!

Don't forget a peek into the church and a trip to the Estrecho de Arboleja! Driveable, scootable or cyclable but don't recommend walking there.

If you get to the picnic area walk DOWN the steps. Once at the bottom take a couple of steps to the right and head into the undergrowth. Go through the "Estrecho" and, if you're not bothered about wet, cold, feet climb out the other side and follow the path back.

Ooops posted before your photos dropped in!

I thought I recognised the name of Aledo on your map, that was the 2nd last night of my cycle tour in that area. We covered the area West of you as far across as Cazorla and North as far as Yeste. A lovely area.

A cycle tour we're planning for later in April is heading out that way towards Cazorla. Did you make it up yourself or did you have info?

Had a lovely evening first bbq I've had since arriving in spain ....much beer much wine lovely food. I might have another Tomorrow ha ha

Can't believe how light it is outside there's a massive moon right above me
