Tam, Jade and Franky's European Adventure

I wonder if they were friends with a German couple we met same thing happened to me could not get out of bed the next day :(

But I drew the line at the olives....man how anyone can eat those they are rank. ..and they had about ten different sorts with almonds and stuff......yeeeeuch.
You are just too young to appreciate olives, try the stuffed chille ones you won't notice the olive.:)

But the police have been in twice now and they walked around my van ...didnt knock on the door or anything then drove away again which was a bit weird as they didn't go to any of the other vans.

Very strange
What do you expect Brit reg, Brexit not going down too well they are worried about loosing all that EU money that comes from us. Have you noticed all the superb roads with no cars on them and wondered where the money comes from.:ROFLMAO:

Out watching some of the Santa semana celebrations ...costumes are brilliant. It isn't as busy as I'd expected but there's another big parade at 9pm ...so just grabbing some food.

That's never 6 metres it looks tiny

Have you been to Aranjuez before ? We stopped there on way down and did the palace audio guide tour. Decided it saved us a trip into Madrid as it said throne room a copy of the one in palace in Madrid, then the Capi de Monti room was copied in Madrid palace, then the Moroccan room a copy of one in Alhambra. We enjoyed the visit.

At Camping Internacional Aranjuez now - been quite a few times Annie - it and Camping El Astral at Tordesillas (our next stop) are our two "regular" stop off sites on way down South or back North from/to Santander or Bilbao - love it here - El Astral is good to - enjoy the rest of your tour :)

There really are some people who have motorhomes that shouldn't be allowed in the roads ..there a couple here with the smallest hymer you've seen and it's taken 1w 5 minutes for them to park it in an empty carpark ...shes out directing him and it's been back and forth about 20 times ....i didn't know you got them that small it's like 5 metres or something
Must have been the couple we saw 5 days ago it was hilarious. ps felt sorry for the woman she had the partitions of a saint.

To be honest if this guy hits anything it woukd be a miracle there's about 25ft either side of him nothing in front and although there is a wall behind there's a kerb and 8ft of pavement before he would get near it

Years ago I worked for a firm that sponsored a rally team and they decided that all new works vans would be in the team colours - cost a bomb to have them sprayed as well, this was a long time before vinyl wrapping was invented!

Anyhow, first van to be done is the fitter in our yard, and off he goes to his first job in his new shiny van, that he was very proud of - to a pumping station in the middle of a huge empty grassy field, and I mean a really huge field and very empty one at that. Well, empty except for a small pumping station building and 1 telegraph pole.

So that'll be 1 Escort van with a stoved in rear end and a large bill for a new telegraph pole then.....

Well I thought the daytime parade was impressive but the one that started at 9pm is fantastic it still has an hour and a half to go as it take them 4 hours to parade round the town so I've nipped back to the van to recharge my phone quickly then I'm off out to catch the end of it.
Sorry the pics aren't great my phone's not so good in the dark but trust me you really have to see these celebrations for yourself if like me you haven't before ......amazing the effort they put in and those wee kids in the band's etc absolutely fantastic

No chance of getting the scooter and bike in that garage Tam,better think of something bigger.
I'll be selling the scooter when I downsize and putting push bike on a rack on the back.
Think that ones a little small for me anyway.
I've seen another hymer just a bit bigger or a hobby that I like the look of.
Have to sell franky first anyway but who knows there might be someone looking to go bigger that I can take a p/exch

Looks like the KKK is alive and kicking in Spain,,BUSBY,,

That’s what I thought  must be the blue hood branch...
I did say to someone I thought the hoods were a bit kkk like but he explained it well

The kkk took the hood idea from this type of ceremony not the other way round.
These costumes go back a lot further than the kkk

Date back to 14th or 15th Century when Christianity was reinstated in Spain after the Moors were overthrown...Mind you modern day Spanish do love dressing up,,BUSBY:):)

Take a look at a B584. 6 point something metres and a brilliant layout (IMO :)).

We have a B584 (technically 3 berth) a drop down double bed-very comfortabl, long settee one side makes a single bed, fixed table with one captains chair opposite (we had our table chopped so it hinges down out of the way) good sized washroom and shower with bifold door, good kitchen across back.
Gives a feel of real space.

Yeah I've had a look online it does look a good size.

That was really good to watch last night ...i think all their prayers were answered because it was threatening to rain all night even when the last parade started at 9pm they kept coming out the church and looking skyward ..there were a few drops now and then you could feel but it stayed off ...the parade finished just after 1am and fireworks till about 2 and then the heavens opened and it was torrential rain and high winds.

Back to bright sunny this morning thankfully but still windy.

Another load of parades tonight from 6pm again.

Now if they could just make that layout in a narrow bodied van with a garage big enough to take a decent size motorbike.........

I have to say I don't quite get the focus on the length of a van. Unless you've got very specific circumstances, such as being very tight on driveway length, why does it matter if a van is say 6m or 7.5m? Neither will fit in a standard car park space. Ok there are occasions when the shorter van will have an advantage, but not many I think.

Whereas the width of a van makes a very real difference if you like to go to places with narrow roads - I'd far rather drive a 7.5m long 2.1m wide van down a very narrow road than a 6m long 2.3m wide van! Mine is 2.4m plus mirrors and I wish it was narrower.

Overhang is my biggest issue ...i ground my towbar daily, turning circle and fitting in to passing places on narrow roads also help.
I've had 2 vans the size i have now and a couple of 7 metre aswell as loads of vw campers etc.
I've taken this van on roads a lot of people wouldn't so it's not so much I've found it restrictive I just don't need this size of a van which I discovered from living in it full time.

I don't want to downsize to small but if I can get everything I want in a 6 metre great if not I'll go up to 7 metre. The width has never bothered me so much and i think that's what puts me of a pvc as they are narrower
