Cool well I've not booked it yet I want to wait till my mot is done on Friday just in case if probs. Where you heading ?

Good morning Tam, just had a catch up, good to hear mum is improving, and you are off on your adventures again, look for to following your journey.

Is that with a doggy cabin or would I have to leave her in van? ( don't want to do that if I can )
I use that route if possible dog just sleeps in van - factor in mileage/fuel each side going to spain and you may well save quite a few quid dependant on which side of london you go for west side newhaven would probably work out a lot cheaper

"God willing" Morocco,it will be our third time and both previous trips have ended early (ie.after 1 month) hopefully this time we will be able to really get into it and do 2-3 months.

I just had a pair of itinerants at the door asking if we were selling either of the motorhomes ....having a good look in my sister's van windows on the way out the drive.

Careful, they are casing the joint to check security before returning to nick them!

If you were sharp and got details of any vehicle they were in you should report it to the plod.
Hopefully they will keep it on record and it may be useful to link them to other thefts/crimes.

Richard.

Yes I got note of the car registration and I phoned police Scotland, I was actually genuinely surprised how serious they took it. Apparently 4 motorhomes have been stolen in this area since mid November. They took all details going to add street to drive around. Took details of mine and sisters vans etc. My concern is my mum's house etc when I leave so think my sister and bil might move in

I'm doing that route 3 days earlier cleres is ok to stop with a dog ( nice big park ) short run from dieppe but you probably know that anyway

Lost count of the times we have been asked by travellers if the van is for sale..
In the process of replying I mention that my cousin Birdie Sargent over in Peterborough has first refusal

Sargent are a well known family of Romany origins.. Good people and always worth a name drop as it turns others of a similar ilk getting involved :-) ( BTW, we are not related in any way... Also works with the name Boswell around Liverpool area, Brown down Kent and south )

Surely they aren't stupid enough to drive a traceable vehicle, but then again ....

Thoroughly depressed myself tonight watching this film.

If you've never seen it I can tell you it's depressing and it's heart breaking yet I would still urge you to watch it.

I think every person needs to watch it.

This country is a disgrace

Whilst I would normally counter with the fact that Ken Loach, the director, has never ever left his socialist bias out of any film he's made...
...in this instance it appears he's hit the nail firmly on the head with regards Universal Credit.
I have no intention of watching this film, mainly because I don't need to depress myself - but I am told by a friend who has seen it, who works within social services, and in our locality where UC has been rolled out, that's it's an accurate depiction of the mess the government has made of attempting to simplify the benefits system.

I saw this last year Tam and was reduced to tears.

I agree .. it should be compulsory viewing for all politicians and should be put on the Modern Studies syllabus in schools too.

Our welfare system is not fit for purpose and politicians should be ashamed.

Whoever is in power has a duty to protect the weak and vulnerable.

I am becoming more cynical about politics but heartened by the responses of some friends to this film ....

Right you orrible lot ...I'm gonna have to start a new thread on Monday for the next adventure bit I'm having difficulty thinking of a name for the thread.

So for a bit of fun what can folk come up with ?

So it's me tam, Toby the van , jade and milo

And no definate plan of travels, I've now got a Green card for morroco and Turkey this time too just in case.

It’s tricky to think of a catchy one now that there are 4 of you!:D
I can only come up with long ones

What Tam (Jade, Milo and Toby) did next

Do you have to start a new thread or could you just re-name this one? It would be a pity to lose sight of all that has happened since you embarked on your European adventure. I’m a but of a sentimentalist and love being able to re-visit Past memorable places and events.
