Tam, Jade and Franky's European Adventure

That's the Mezquita - very much worth visiting to see the inside but no dogs allowed!

We agree with @DBK, the inside is awesome! We were most impressed when we visited in 2007.

The Christians regained control of Cordoba from the Moors (Muslims) in 1236 and over the next several hundred years the Muslim mezquita was reformed into a cathedral.

You would think that, with all the alterations and additions to which it has been subjected over its very long life, it would easily be a mess of conflicting styles. Not so; it is a beautiful building with both style and elegance.

I didn't see the inside as I had jade with me

Not sure I can cope with the heat of staying here overnight though .....im tempted to start heading back to the coast where at least I can go in the water

It's seriously hot and same overnight and looking at the next few days its too get hotter

It's up at 37° now lol

If I were you, Tam, I would head for the Costa de la Luz; maybe somewhere like Mazagón. It tends to be windy on that coast and therefore much cooler when the temperature inland rises.

I think it'll still be there for another visit! Its still standing since 1998 when we visited

The temperature normally hits the 40's in July/August. Good luck in Murcia for Jade's op! We'll not be there (again) we're heading north.

Because I have to head back to Murcia next month I'm thinking I might just head over to nerja , roquete s de mar again as I liked it there.

I've bailed out of cordoba though and found a wee spot out by a lake for tonight so I can throw jade in it :p

Great pics of Cordoba, as usual. That phone camera is superb, although the light down there must help.

Out of interest what is the aircraft? Obviously a Douglas and I plump for a DC6 but the angle could be deceptive and it could be a DC4.

If you did not note of it you are no friend of mine.

You are definitely out of my heat zone - I would have been off to the hills a week ago.

Keep trucking laddie.

I have to confess I've no idea with the plane. ..its parked in a wee park near where I left franky to visit cordoba

Generally the coast seems cooler than inland and at least there is water there

Maybe have a word with Sylvia and delay Jades op for a few months if you can. Murcia will be awful.

Head west and north instead. Great time to do that.
Problem is if I put off the op it buggers me up for my planned route , I don't want to zig zag about and double back if I can help it so I was in two minds whether to go and do Portugal just now while I'm this far down or to travel up towards murcia get her opp done and then cut back accross country .....

I guess I expected the weather to gradually get warmer as the months went on from January but it didn't so it's now went from low 20's to high 30's in a matter of weeks

Everything in the van is boiling even sitting on the toilet is unpleasant as it's hot lol

My butter is vegetable oil :p
The freezer seems fine bit the fridge isn't great , the water is warm coming out the taps lol.

Maybe I should have just left jades opp till back in the UK. ...im just paranoid incase some dug mounts her when I'm not paying attention.

I don't need half a dozen puppies

Keep an eye on those dugs outt there :)
I do my best ...bit she does like to spend a lot of time outside the van on her lead.

And she gets a lot of dogs coming past to say hello ....a few want to do more than say hello ...i had to lift her up away from a horny bull terrier the other day

Risking life and limb

Ahh I see lol, Well when you first notice any little spots of blood then you know thats the start of her season, dogs won't be interested in her properly until usually any time from 10 to 16 days although sometimes it can be a bit earlier or even later but 10 - 16 days is the norm that will be the crucial time so keep her well away from male dogs then .

See that's the weird thing a lot of the buggers seem interested all the time there's been at least 4 dogs now trying to hump. .I have to keep pulling them off.

Her anal glands may need emptying that will attract male dogs and they will try and hump her ...are her bits swollen cos she could have a silent season?? that can often happen ..or maybe if she is not spotting yet she may be coming into season within the next few weeks ...

Silvia

Can't wait for the photos of northern raider emptying the anal glands (y)

It's 01.10 and still 30° degrees in this van despite having all 4 skylights fully open.

Let jade out for a last pee around midnight and the bloody van is full of mozzies and corn flies.

Sod this for a game of soldiers lol
