Re mislaid things.
I’m not into jewellery but was left a lovely ring from late Grandma ( she had big hands and the ring fits my little finger) had it about 20 years. didn’t wear it when I was working or doing anything that I thought I might lose it. If I wasn’t wearing it it sat in a secret spot. Anyway when we packed up our van in November 2018 after spending a time in a house in Portugal which I then drove back to put in storage in the UK everything was a little manic, and basically the ring vanished.

I searched every box, cupboard, bag, you name it I searched it but it never turned up. Roll forward to March 2020 when I came back to get the van ready for its mot I went to the rear locker, got my rigger gloves out, put my hand in and guess what….. the ring was there, must have been wearing it when I had the gloves on whilst un loading the car from the trailer nearly 18months earlier, pulled the gloves of and that’s where the ring stayed. Was a happy emotional find.

The lead will turn up eventually.

After the goat herder had passed this morning we walked from here along the coast to the cave of Franchitti ...its about 3.5 miles away i think ....nice walk but stupidly didn't take water ... gasping i was on return to the van. Puddles sorted the dogs out thankfully. No wind today and it was warm ... spotted a nice wee bay on the way i might move to tomorrow for a swim as its sandy unlike this one which is stones and sore on the feet . Would love to know which rich person has this private island in the bay here. Milo was chuffed with himself as he found a big bone but he never brought it back . Glorious day tam

Have you reported your loss to the local police? They might help search for it?
I tend to avoid those buggers as much as possible. We did get a visit from them last week just outside nafplion 😁.

9.30 in the morning they showed up .

1st question ...where are you from

Reply ... Scotland.

2nd question ....what are you doing here?

Reply....walking my dogs to the small chapel. ( We were just setting off when they arrived )

3rd question....well more of a statement. You can't camp here .... If you stay overnight we will fine you €300

Reply ....not camping only parking same as those 2 cars over there 😉

We had already stayed overnight 🤷🏻‍♂️ but were moving after the dog walk.

Only time ive seen them on this trip and i stayed on that spot 3 nights last year but hey ho.

I know this is getting silly now, but have you looked under the van, could have got kicked out un noticed

A little bit of good news Tam, your tacho key is on it's way too you.

(I did get a shock though at the price of stamps, £7.80 for 12 second class , you owe me a beer!)

The key alone would have been just an envelope . . . . . . . .
it was the concrete block that L'Hobo attached it to, so you couldn't lose it, was the expensive bit ::bigsmile: ::bigsmile:

Just checked with Royal Mail online and up to 100grams, second class, 0.66p each which I make X 12 is £7.92 so at the price i paid of £6.80 it was a bargain (y)

Was that Karathona? They're a bit hot there on overnighters. Nice policeman shoved a note in our mits threatening a €300 fine a few years back, so we moved a km or so up to the Agios Nicolaos harbour.
Thats the only time we've been moved on in Greece.

Yeah at korothonas ...i know the beach area is usually a bit dodgy but we were up in the carpark at the far end of it. No signs or anything there . Bored police with nothing to do. Wouldn't mind but both times we've stayed there ive litter picked the area and binned all the bottles and coffee cups the lazy locals dump

Yep, one of the few downsides to Greece is the rubbish problem. We once parked up at Drepano beach at Igoumenitsa and there were families with kids on the beach happily playing amongst rubbish including broken bottles, for whatever reason they just don't seem to care. Can't understand it, they are such wonderful people.
