Great trip and pictures Tam, we have been going to Greece for the last Twenty years and cant wait to get back there in March ???? keep them coming please. Stay safe

Did you go last summer or not?

We did with no trouble,, just equipped with the Covid paperwork, which was only glanced at when disembarking at Patras., but nowhere else. Of course, living in EU we did not face the hassle of the UK Covid restrictions and quarantine etc.

We skipped Monevassia as I had been there several times and Basia once when I still had the boat.

If you are still in Monevassia and heading north I would again, as last year, suggest you call in at Gerakas and/or Kyparisi - the first is only a small diversion off the main road, but the second is a bit longer but more dramatic.

I did visit kyparisia last year ...drove past gerakas as it was dull and raining but also because there were signs saying no motorhomes . I followed the road right through kyparisia to leonidio last year ...some bits were little more than a dirt track

Had a walk up to the old town of monemvasia this morning ....its a bit more lively than last year as things are open. Was sweltering as its 20° today but the locals are dressed up like its the north pole ...one woman in particular i just had to take a photo of ....see below

They probably think you & Jackie are loonies dressed in short sleeves in the middle of winter.
20° is flipping freezing to them.
Aye most likely but im not believing that woman wasn't sweating like a transit on an MOT ramp in all that clobber

I had to double check your last pic and thought that Ela was a boy😅

When I was a wee boy, reaching 9/10 my mother used to buy me long trousers for school, they were so long she would turn them up held with a stitch or two, saying "dont worry son, you will soon grow into them"
Now looking at those ladies in the photos, it looks the are shrinking into their trousers!.:giggle:

20C is cool if your used to 30+ degrees - I´d be wearing at least 3 layers at that temperature!
Also when you go into the shade it will be a lot cooler too.

I do not remember you mentioning going to Kyparisi. I am surprised you made it along the direct road to Leonidi - was some of it paved? Last time I was there only the Port Police in a 4X4 used it.

Yes they have built a new road linking the two which i believe the residents of leonidi campaigned against for years

Thats a screenshot of last years polarsteps route right through kyparissia ...we didn't like the parking spots available so just kept going .... everything was closed aswell
