Tam and Toby ~~ Hunting Zorba .....Take two.

Can you post from France to Aus then? We haven't been able to for 7 or 8 months now. Not even letters/cards.
We have to send to UK & get it sent on.

Yes no problems except it is taking longer . I send a prepaid Colissimo box 7kg limit . Normally 6 days delivery but the last box took just over 2 weeks .

Have been sending boxes regularly to keep her cheered up for the 7 months they have been in lockdown but this one is for Christmas ! They are now free and allowed out at last :) i would stay in for ever if it would have got them out sooner . 7 months of very real lockdown is hard to do . But Christmas will be lovely for them :)
Im parked up next to an Aussie just now ...they were meant to go home in September but can't

Not sure how Australia hopes to eradicate virus when not every country will have access to a vaccine

Could be locked down a very long time

Do you mean out of the house, State or country? Basia's son who has Aus Citizenship has not been allowed out of the country since April, although his wife who is on a visa is allowed out, but together they are locked in there.

Geoff
Can't get in either apparently even if Australian

I love tablet but don’t make it very often! Some is heading to Oz in Christmas box lol

my mate makes the stuff ( Gardiner’s of Scotland ) , A 20ft container was just shipped to Australia last month, I’m often in the factory when they have mechanical problems , I get fed up eating the fudge / tablet/ macaroon , toffee & Edinburgh rock

You can get in if you live in Australia. But you cant get in if you are an Australian citizen but don't live there anymore. Same applies here in the isle of man. You have to prove you actively work and live here rather were just born here.

Fed up !! No way lol Tablet is addictive especially for a girl who had a Type 1 diabetic Dad all of her life so anything sweet was a taboo !

Lesson dont deny your kids anything or when they are free they become an addict :)

No not in lockdown now but people arriving must be Australians and must isolate in a hotel . They are an island so border control and quarantine . Not off you go home we trust you to stay home. UK is also an island and could have done similar .

You can go back home but limited numbers per week as you have to quarantine for 2 weeks in a hotel
As far as I know, only if you are a returning resident. If you don't live there you can't go back even if you are a citizen. You must have an address is Australia and a recent utility bill. Otherwise where would you live

Ignore my post. They are now allowing citizens back regardless of how long they have been away

I left pylos this morning after a bit of shopping and headed to mithoni ....very hard to park here but managed to park by the beach after manoeuvring through the town ....i think in normal times and holiday season this would be a bustling wee place but its graveyard quiet at present.. the fort/castle was closed but we managed to get around the outside by the wee harbour for a few photos and then went around the other side to fly the drone .....was quite windy though and i lost transmission for a good few minutes and thought i had lost it so it wasnt in the air long before i panicked and hit the return home button
Sadly i couldn't get it out far enough tto get the castle tower before i lost signal

But got a few decent pics

They are in no particular order as uploading pics to fun seems to be getting harder than easier ....takes seconds to upload elsewhere but nearly 15 minutes to load them on here many taking 2 or 3 attempts ☹️

Well i followed the coast from methoni to founikounta....then on to koroni in search of a nice place to stop for the night but everywhere was either closed off or in accessible with a van the size of toby ...

Ive finally parked in a small town called Agios Andreas ... parked right on the beach tucked out of site ....will do me for one night

Suns out now so its a bit brighter

Very appropriate place to stop on St Andrew's Day. Have a very happy national day Tam.

Tam, sorry to hear news of Sis's FiL. Does not sound good.

Re your weather, it sounds like laying second anchor time.

We have first snow of winter here in Poland. Winters are not so cold but start early and finish late which I do not like.

At least where you are given a couple of days the sun will be out again.

Resist Zorba, even if a stray, he is too big and two small ones is enough. What does Val 2 3 dogs say?

Find a good taverna for this evening with lots of cheap wine and cheery locals and hunker down in there.

I support the try several olives from different marinades idea, all taste different. Best done in a shop with open tins so one can just pick single ones out to taste.

Keep enjoying, despite the not good news.

Geoff
I think leaving Zorba is probably the right decision Tam. He looks in good enough nick.
If he is a "double coated" dog like my two Spanish mastins you wont be able to move for dog hair everywhere, even for me that takes a bit of living with, I think you are too fastidious for that Tam.🙄

Tam, there was an old disused campsite there where you should be able to empty your loo of you need to, that was 2016 so things might have changed. Water from the beach shower too.

Yeah im parked right next to the old campsite ....beach showers directly behind me. But im all good ...ive not used the cassette toilet since i left lefkada 3 weeks ago ...easier just to use other methods as very few disposal points in greece ive found.

Water is easily got thankfully

I was thinking that!
I checked the tide line before i reversed along here ha ha .....it stops a good 10 feet away and true to form the weather forecast has changed again so weather ok till i leave here tomorrow

Famous last words 🤣🤣🤣

Lucky you. It's absolutely sheeting down here and a crash of thunder just shook the van so hard we all jumped.
