Its pouring down now and when it rains in greece it sure does rain ...impressive thunder too but not much lightning .
First pic is looking from pylos to where i was parked ... second pic is where im parked now ( next to the orange and grey merc (Aussies from elea) and near the boats ) from the approach road up the hill and the last is the rain pouring down window

Are you at the harbour ? Hang a right at the bottom of the hill ?

Thé fort at Methoni Is Venetian and just free and open to the public. You I think could park nearby if the weather is going to improve .

Which side of the harbour are you, the car park by the marina or the other side under the cliff where the coaches park?

Just had some bad news from back home

My sister's Fil has been in hospital in Alicante for the last few weeks with covid ... he's asmatic and although he was innitially responding well and was taken off ventilator the other day hes relapsed and is having multiple organ failure , blood pressure has plumetted and hes not responding ... Doc's don't think hes going to make it ☹️

Parked on the harbour side as its now the only spot you are allowed to park here
They did get a bit touchy all those years ago and I guess more so now there are so many more vans . We stayed at Camping Thines in Finikounta . Despina and her husband so kind . For Xmas and NY they said use the cafe which was closed for winter . Light the fire and there is a wine barrel of our own wine in the back . Office door never closed , key in the lock but maybe not now :-( Only 4 vans on site . Lovely time .
Café bar in village we had a coffee most days and bought a cake for tea . One day I said two of these and girl said no choose another . I said but I like them she said no another those are yesterdays . I’ll sell to the Germans . Was a bit confused why the Germans but it appears they are not too popular . Could cee why when I visited their village treated like Oradour here .

Tam, sorry to hear news of Sis's FiL. Does not sound good.

Re your weather, it sounds like laying second anchor time.

We have first snow of winter here in Poland. Winters are not so cold but start early and finish late which I do not like.

At least where you are given a couple of days the sun will be out again.

Resist Zorba, even if a stray, he is too big and two small ones is enough. What does Val 2 3 dogs say?

Find a good taverna for this evening with lots of cheap wine and cheery locals and hunker down in there.

I support the try several olives from different marinades idea, all taste different. Best done in a shop with open tins so one can just pick single ones out to taste.

Keep enjoying, despite the not good news.

Geoff

Yeah i decided this morning that stray or not zorba seems to be doing ok ...hes healthy and happy and like you say he's really too big for me to home with 2 already and living in a van ....days like this he'd be demented as would i ...my two just cuddle up on a seat and sleep but he'd need a sofa to himself and theres only 2

All the taverna's are closed ...only supermarkets open until at least the 7th .

Hopefully the big storm passes quicker than the 3 days its forecast for

Yes no problems except it is taking longer . I send a prepaid Colissimo box 7kg limit . Normally 6 days delivery but the last box took just over 2 weeks .

Have been sending boxes regularly to keep her cheered up for the 7 months they have been in lockdown but this one is for Christmas ! They are now free and allowed out at last :-) i would stay in for ever if it would have got them out sooner . 7 months of very real lockdown is hard to do . But Christmas will be lovely for them :-)

Do you mean out of the house, State or country? Basia's son who has Aus Citizenship has not been allowed out of the country since April, although his wife who is on a visa is allowed out, but together they are locked in there.

Out of the house to socialise :-) She lives in Melbourne and lockdown was lockdown. They had 2 weeks freedom 4 months ago but then they had the isolation hotel fiasco ! But I guess you know how it was. My daughter is an Aus citizen and has lived there for 23 years
