Tam and Toby ~~ Hunting Zorba .....Take two.

Truly the stuff motorhoming dreams are made of...sounds and looks like it was a night like no other. And a didge player as well... dont get much better than that for atmosphere. Enjoy. (Seriously green with envy at this end.)

Now we are living , it’s amazing how a little social effort goes a long way , I always feel it’s the people that we meet more so than the places we go that make special memories, after all that moaning about noisy disrespectful neighbours last night you became one of them 👍 , I’m happy for you

Bit of greek music? ....no not zorba 😁
Great spot though .....off to work now😟

It's great following this. I look forward to catching up on the next part of the adventure.

Oh I don't know - my introduction to Greece was by a friend and we used to breakfast every morning at the same cafe/bar in Lindos, Rhodos. The shop opposite used to pay Zorba's Dance incessantly. When it got too much we repaired to the bar round the corner for the first beer.

That was the start of my love affair with Greece, which expanded into a great holiday, which lead to other great Greek holidays, which lead to sitting at a local cafe on a hill in Amorgos after 4 weeks island-hopping, where I formulated the plan to buy a boat and sail it to Greece, which lead to 30 magic years of sailing the Greek Islands and many happy adventures and meetings, some in places like Tam is in.

For me Zorba's Dance always brings back memories of how that all started. It is played often on a Polish radio station.

Now I, and Basia, want to follow the same path in our motorhome, but the Lindos I knew will not be in it - long disappeared.

Loving this Tam, your not uploading quick enough though.😜 I’m quickly becoming what I believe is commonly called a stalker! That cove is devine, I wouldn’t be moving from there for at least a week! How many months are you in Greece for? Just so I know when it will come to an end.😳😇

An added bonus the owner of the small bar thats closed in the bay turned up today to remove some lights etc. ...he turned on the water tap for us so we can get drinking water and the beach shower ....

Stefan one of the french guys told him we had used the bbq last night and had a fire on the beach and he said that is all okay

So ive managed to top up my water tank at least .....just emptied my grey around some of the trees further back from the vans

So its only toilet waste i need to dispose of when i leave

The Greeks can make life easy for one. You should have offered to buy his last beers to save him having to lug them away. ;)

Tam you should stay for the Spring flowers in March/April

Had a walk round with the dogs to the next cove .....its not as pretty as this one .....passed one of these little ornate churches on the way ....i think when i was in crete i saw dozens of these on the mountain roads and when i asked one of the hotel staff they told me it was usually where someone had died ...maybe in a road accident or something...but they are amazingly detailed for being only a foot or so high

10 vans parked in one place ! Didn’t see much more than 10 vans in the 3 months I was there in 2008 . Just shows how it has changed . But glad you have found some young company . Enjoy :-)

I actually guessed at ten but there was only 6 ...and now only 5 as the swiss couple have gone of to the meteora monestary ..

The couple with the old hymer are really nice she is a doctor and he is an engineer ... he's been telling me all about his boat he bought in july and it broke down on the first trip and he had to be towed back to port...engine is knackered

He says boats are worse than camping car 🤣

I would say the Turks are even more friendly and welcoming than the Greeks and that's saying something. Overnighting off grid is easy as the the country is not overrun with motorhomes either - yet.
Go on Tam, you know you want to.
