Driven a hire car in Florence that was a real experance at least with GB plates they give you a bit of leeway.

Trying to plan ahead for a stop in florence and nearly every parking spot including the official sosta has reviews about breakins and robberies....are the italians all just theiving vandals or are some just unlucky.
Its putting me right off visiting any of these places

That's Italy one place it's worth paying for a site if you are going to leave the van unattended.

As a country it's always been known for thefts,,Spain was bad years ago but gas seemed better this last few years.BUSBY.

Well im just back from a walk around ferrera ....im knackered

Set off in entirely the wrong direction due to stupid map app feeezing ...and by the time we realised id went about 2 miles the wrong way ....

Foggy again today and light drizzly rain at times ....so not the best weatherwise

The town is ok i guess ... probably nicer in sunshine and a few nice old buildings...the cathedral, castle and diamonte palace so named for its choice of brickwork ....as usual you sometimes struggle to fit the building in to the shot due to narrowness of streets or just cant get back far enough
Oh and this huge old tree that theyve built all this metal framing in to in order to support it .....
Finally back at toby after getting lost on the way back also .....i really need to stop believing in disney stories and letting the dogs try to find our way back as really they are quite useless at navigating

Getting lost is sometimes more interesting than the right way. Mind you when I recently took a wrong turn and we walked an extra 3 miles as a result,the Duchess wasn’t very happy...............well,we were only a few miles from home so I guess she had a point!!!!!!!!!

I never know whats best for it ...when i dont move around it tends to sieze up and i cant bend my ankle without real pain ....when i excercise it then it seems to ease off and get better for so long but if i overdo it then its back to throbbing pain ....theres a large lump about 2 inch up from my heel and just touching it is painfull.

Was never aware of doing anything to cause it but been a couple of months now ....if i keep my walking boots tied tight round the ankle it seems to help .

Well ive had some lunch and its now pouring down so time to move on ....going to head for Florence now and will try and find somewhere to park up tonight and visit the sights in the morning.

WE drove in Italy for 5 weeks with a missing kitchen window and we duck-taped a piece of perspex over it. It leaked in the rain a bit but we had no theft attempts which we thought was amazing. And we stayed in several sostas too.

Finally arrived in Florence....3 hours 37 minutes to travel 166km so approximately 100 miles lol

Brutal ...most of the route is 50kph occasionally 70kph .....torture

Add to that the fog and rain as we hit the hills of Tuscany and its been a long boring drive .... eventually cleared up a bit as we were descending in to Florence but still overcast and cloudy.

Took a couple of pics out the window on route lol

Thats it ....

So at the minute im stopped in a very busy carpark near the swimming baths and sports centre.
Logic is that if its busy during the day it should be safe from breakins.
Theres one other Italian motorhome tucked over in the corner whereas ive plonked myself slap bang in the middle

Just filled up at a station in Greece ....@1.60 a litre unleaded !.....luckily my scooter can only hold €5 worth and does a 100 miles on that.

Could not be a proper truck driver until I was 21,,Undertaker at 19,,Actually I was a trainee embalmer.. BUSBY.

Supposed to be thunder storms and rain here tonight and tomorrow....just my luck
If it had been better in pisa id have just drove there in morning and returned here tomorrow night as supposed to be better on sunday ....but same weather in pisa tomorrow.
