Tam and Toby ~~ Hunting Zorba .....Take two.

That is a keen start, I thought you'd let Toby's engine cool before starting on the rusty bus lol.
Have you got / get some old scaffold boards ? You could cut them up and stack to make ramps to get a proper look underneath
Edit : just remembered you can't start her, doh. Maybe when you can ?

No mention of mum Tam, is she only pleased to see the dogs? I bet she would love her drive cleared?!?! ;):LOL:
Yeah mum is ok the novelty of having the dogs home hasn't worn off yet ....only had a few chats with her through door etc as im still not meant to be near her ...mum and sister took dogs out earlier for walkies.
She doesn't mind the things on the drive its just noise she worries about

So thats all the seats out bar the small front crew seat which im going to leave in till its mot is done so it has 2 seats .

Bit dissapointed as i found £5.65 yesterday and hoped for similar today and that would have bought tonight's dinner but only found 8p on this side

When they put these things together they never intend on them being dismantled again ... everything is glued and screwed then covered with something else thats glued and screwed making it very hard to take apart ...my body is aching

Now i just need these uplifted

This is pants....

After i cut the grass i went and spent another hour or so on the bus ....my body is aching ...im not used to a this physical activity.

The big overhead luggage rack is now out on the passenger side ...that is one seriously heavy MF and it fell on me while i was lying over all the stacked chairs at the back of the van ....close one that

Not as easy doing these bits on your own with no assistant.

Called it a day now as dogs want to chill so im ordering a socially distanced curry

Heres where im at now ....not sure how im getting that 6 metre long rack out the bus with no back doors

Again everything is glued and screwed ....these things are put together 5 times more solid than motorhomes lol its way over the top

It’s amazing the space you will have mate. Window out or cutting the rack in bits is the only option

Answer:
Possibly through a sky light or a space where you have removed a window or sawn into lesser lengths.
As a mere non-practical woman, I think you need to be finding yourself a workshop to rent before you go any further.
Neither your Mum nor her neighbours need your scrap heap outside their tidy little suburban houses. 😐

The scrap is all contained inside the van at the minute 😁

won't you gain some height when/if you take the floor out to lay insulation,

won't you gain some height when/if you take the floor out to lay insulation,
Im not sure yet but ill be laying 18mm phenolic plywood on to the steel ladder frame ...then on top of that will be 25mm insulation and then either ply with lino or 12 mm hardwood flooring.

At the minute im not sure what depth is on top of the original wood floor

Nah its the same size as toby ....it will increase my wildcamping in the end
Good trip Tam...and you did it without the benefit of Banner batteries...amazing ! Saw this today parked up at that beach at Ag Nich you stayed at...maybe one for your next project...I wonder what mpg they get.

It’s a pity you left...I’m gonna have to find my own places to stay now instead of following your trail...21 Degrees today 😀 just so you know what yer missing.

Man thats fugly but i believe its a man kat .... Probably does around 6mpg

Gosh! It looks much longer. It also looks very low to the ground or is that just it's "skirts" which are cosmetic and removable?
Yeah it does look long but i think its just the overall shape of it ...it is hower 300mm longer than toby and longer than a standard lwb vario overall . The conversion company extends these.

You can actually see the difference in length from the standard vario in this photo if you look at the distance between the yellow marker light and rear bumper on mine ( top) and the blue one you can see the extended section

IMG_2021-03-03_14-19-38.JPG

And yes it looks low at the minute because of the bodykit ...once thats removed its got more ground clearance than the hymer . I dont like the bodykit so that will be getting removed

Thanks for a Great thread Tam...it helped me to get through the grim days to have the next episode of your Odyssey to look forward to each day......a public service indeed! And well done for keeping on posting despite a patch of turbulence with negative commentary for a while! Happily it passed.
Best of luck with your new project.
