Tam and Toby ~~ Hunting Zorba .....Take two.

I’ve always found it easy to change eurotunnel bookings. They seem very flexible.

I hate getting ripped off .....

Ive still not booked my tunnel crossing as i thought it best to wait till i had test results and was in france but its getting ridiculous on the price.
When i looked the other week the cheapest i could get is £128 plus £20 each for the dogs ....
Now the cheapest for Wednesday or Thursday is £145 plus the dogs and if i look at booking it for monday its £238 plus the dogs ... so if i dont book the bloody thing now im going to be paying twice the normal price
I hate highway robbery ....most of these trains are running near empty the price should be bloody cheaper the closer you get ... especially when youve to have tests done etc before you can use them ...theres lots of profiteering going on with this and its frankly disgusting.

So I don't know what to do ...im not sure if Wednesday might be pushing it ... but then I don't want to spend any longer in france than necessary either

Still not got a vet either and not sure where to get a test before tunnel or where im going to park overnight if getting a morning train
The reason might be because France is starting to lift some restrictions from the uk

Very true... I believe we all have the capability but we (humans) don’t use most of our brain...
I agree but I think not only do many of us humans not use large portions of our brain, we have actually lost that ability even if we wished to do so.
A case of "use it or lose it" and how often do small children say "Woofy said ......" and the adult replies "Don't be silly darling, doggies can't talk" sowing tbe seed of doubt in tbe child's mind.

You know the sayings Tam, "He who hesitates is lost" and "The early bird catches the worm".
Stop faffing man and get on with it before it costs you another couple of hundred. 😀🙄

Stopped for lunch and doggy walk at Piacenza ....toll from bologna to here €11.40 ...., Filled up with diesel at bologna €1.37 ....took €65 to fill.

Now aiming for susa tonight ....4 hours 35 minutes non toll or 2 hours 10 minutes via toll 35km difference

I booked the tunnel this morning for Thursday morning ....£183 all in ☹️
Ill soon have spent more in the last week than I have in 4 months 🤣🤣

Just got on to motorway and my abs and my asr lights have come on the dash .... couldn't have done it in greece when i had all the time in the world to investigate and fix it ....no instead it waits till i have things booked ... Will most likely be some broken wire or sensor or a fuse somewhere but annoying just the same.

Lunch stop

I really need help now, last night I had a dream about Tam.
My telepathic ( or pathetic) dog has been in your dream with tam 👀 the gimp suit and studded dog collar have shocked her into thinking all huumans love studded collars 🤡👀😷

Hopefully we'll be getting our own fix soon but big thanks to Northernraider for sharing his travels and getting us through some very long winter nights that have been so difficult for everyone.
Better times are on the horizon now 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻👍🏻
Absolutely - really enjoyed Tam's Greek adventure, especially the pics - although I got a bit bored with the van conversion stuff!

Yes i think they also use telepathy but who knows.

I watched a programme once that said that recent studies found that when you go to work and leave your dog ...your sent is left in the house and over time the sent fades and thats how you can come home and find your dog sat waiting.... they know by how strong the sent is how long youve been gone and thats how they tell the time.

I know mine can be sleeping inside the van with all blinds closed etc yet they can sense when ever there is a dog nearby even if i have music ,tv etc on ...so they can't have heard them as no barking etc but they either sense their presence or they smell them
You may be interested in the book by Rupert Sheldrake, 'Dogs that know when their owners are coming home'. I heard him talk about this - very interesting. He set up several experiments to prove this - and I think he did.

Brake pads low..? But like you said could be crap/sand around the abs sensor..
Nah the pads arent that old fitted all new brakes last year ..im not even sure this van has abs as only one wire going to one wheel and thats for the pad wear sensor which is a different light.

Ah well brakes still work ok ill have to check when home

I would have thought if an ABS light comes on it's got it. After you got stuck in the sand the other day could be a load of crap around one of the sensors or the abs ring that's moved, may just need a clean. If the ABS disables the traction control will automatically disable as it can't work without the ABS that explains that light.

Swivel cab seats? Check the seat belt pretensioner connectors and wires under the seats.

According to the fiat forum im pretty sure it doesnt have abs ...but it seems a common problem regarding lights

Mine went out for a bit when i moved on again but as soon as i got on motorway they were back on ..ill check it out when im back home ...i do wonder if ive a sticky brake though as it does pull sometimes and im going through a fair bit of fuel

Thats me now at susa ....and im nearly empty ☹️

That was 5 tolls today ....11.70 , 14.90 , 2.00 , 1.90 and 6.80

Think im going to go from susa to lyon france via briancon and avoid tolls in france ....if i get my results quick enough tomorrow i have 3 days to get through france ...gotta try and work out the bloody forms for france now

Is it not hydraulic ? on mine there is a pump with pipes going to it low down on front nearside behind bumper.
I remember my MOT man saying it was a bit exposed to stone damage and if his, he`d put some protection around it.
I`m sure he said it was the ABS pump
Nip out and have a look, it`s easy to see

Quite possibly but i can't do anything with it now anyway so ill worry about it later ....its freezing here with a light flurry of snow... Trying to decipher what i need to enter france and hoping these results come through quick tomorrow

Hi I've been checking things out for our return and i can't find anything that says you only have 24 hrs to transit France so i don't think we need to worry about that. Just stick to the curfew. Perhaps the person who you mentioned was fined something was lost in translation.
I tho this is the form we need:

That form appears to be for a french citizen ....try putting a postcode in lol

Ive no idea what the reason for his fine was i only know what he said on Instagram but perhaps he did not have a test or something i dont know

But ill be in france from Monday to thursday as i cant do anything else ...i will have the pcr result though and from what i can see if entering from european union thats all thats needed bar a health declaration. And then abide by curfews etc ...

Ill hopefully get dogs done somewhere on tuesday and a covid swab test done on Wednesday and then tunnel thursday morning.
