I was reading on the "Ukraine war" thread that it has allowed Starlink to disconnect all those dishes that are being used in russia & the occupied territories. 🤷‍♂️

enough to know i shouldnt touch things i know nothing about ....
If it all works out that the confusion clearing just leaves us in the same position, I am still going to get my two subscriptions staggered, as it will give me more options to unpause for short periods rather than having to wait to the end of one of my current billing cycles

How about this for a crazy deal - we are touring Poland for 4-6 weeks and wanted a 4G Data sim for our mifi. Orange.pl had a ‘starter pack’ for a mobile phone sim that included 400Gb of data. The Orange shop rep activated the sim on my iphone and then popped it out and put it in my mifi. The price? 5Plz (£0.98) and it lasts 31 days, after which it will cost 20Plz for 100Gb - no contract. Amazing!

Phone data plan or a proper data plan?

TBH, worth it for the price alone! ✔️👍🏻

Looks very likely that the Starlink changes in T&Cs are being driven by the ITU see item 6 in this document

And item 7 in this document shows Starlink getting a further bashing!

I seem to remember reading somewhere that Starlink submitted its original application to the ITU via Norway so hence they are the country responding to this.

From a quick skim through it seems Starlink’s free and lose days are over! Do you think it might be due to Starlink now getting most of its income from the US military?

But the price hike is classic - get them hooked and increase the price.

I have fitted gen 3 Starlink flat mounted to the roof with kit from trio, power is via 12 volt to 57volt inverter also from Trio much more efficient that 12v to 240v then back to 57 v.
I have travelled for last 4 weeks and am currently in Bulgaria on the black see
At no time have I not had over 100meg
We’re as as the phone sim only works if your supplier has done a deal on the local mast.
For me it’s a no brainier as this router and array are also used at home when I’m there
As we do not have land line or suitable LTE coverage
Well done Elon it works

Update.
I received a reply to my 2 months out of the UK support question. Here it is.

" Thank you for reaching out to Starlink!

Unfortunately it means that you would need to return to the UK after the two months. You can also upgrade to the Mobile Priority after the two months if you would like to keep service and not require you to return."

The Mobile Priority sub is £247 per month for 50Gb. So they know what they can do with that.

Fortunately our 2025 winter holiday is less than 60 days when I need the dish instead of WiFi, so I'll be OK but watching how rigourously Starlink implement their 60 day rule.

Update to my Update!

Further response when I queried if it's 2 calendar months or 60 days.

Here's the answer plus an American YouTube explainer which is worth listening to but quotes USA prices.

"The allowable time for using Starlink Roam outside of the home country is 60 days, regardless of the number of days in each month. It's not based on calendar months but rather a strict 60-day period. The timer resets as long as we have 1 day of telemetry back in your home country.

To understand the changes with the New Starlink Roam plans and prices, you can watch it here:

Hope this helps!"

Ta for the info but what happened to the "after 60 days we my need you to register in the country you are using it in", or something like that?

In the absence of any telemetry from your home country after you pass 60 days of use, then I would assume your service is just cut off until you connect from your home country.

Fortunately the new plans which were well explained in the video above posted by Kups are fine for my use. We won't be away for more than 30 days at a time for various reasons including insurance cover, while the addition of in motion use is genuinely useful. It works well and I am already using it on the current trip in Spain. Even with my Mini orientated flat with no tilt on the van roof I am generally getting well over 100 Mbit/s.

The only downside for me is the price increase, but it won't stop me using it while away. Just hope they never remove the pause function!
