Raining at 2700m today in 3 Valley's, forecast to get warmer over coming days. Glad I am home Saturday. Similar tale across Europe, tour operators are transfering folk to higher resorts ~ which in consequence will be rammed.

I might be tempted to put the mountain bikes in the garage!!!!:crying:

We are heading straight for VT on Tuesday. I booked the parking and we will be grateful for having SOME snow!
The report from VT is that 95% of the pistes are open and the town webcam shows good deep snow as well.

I watched a movie on YouTube posted 4 days ago and you could see that down the valley towards Les Menuires there was nothing but brown mountainsides showing.

Ah the great thing about MHS. ..we are looking to go 19th Jan to the 1st Feb...haven't even booked a ferry yet or decided where...might no in to Italy or Austria....will just wait and see where the snow is...it'll come I've seen this before.... bout 9 years ago....The day we left on new years day it all melted......6 weeks later it was the coolest ever
 
Will keep you all updated on the local conditions when we get there, but VT should be a sure bet.
Its all Haggers fault for spoiling us with the place on a Funsters ski meet!!!

Wasn't looking good for us as we had issues with our heating have had the heating running all night with no problems looks like the regulator has cleared and we are on track again

That's spooky, ours has done the same thing. Couldn't get it to come on last night, thought we had the wrong regulator but it fired up first time this morning. Have checked the label on the heater and we have the right regulator so just going to buy a couple of new ones in case they have had it.
 
VT snow is good, the aire is packed!
A few flurries but no real snowfall though, the cannons are working OK.

The weather is a bit tropical, overcast and minus 2.

No skiing for us today, just chilling out and watching telly. Astra footprint reaches here OK.

No problems with any VT lift passes.

There has not been any rationing according to the ticket desk.
 
You should be OK with the snow at VT - there is significant snow forecast over the weekend throughout the French Alps - and colder temperatures !

Been out high today and had a good look round.
There is NO snow below 2000 metres.
Some of the upper pistes are a bit windswept and stoney where there are no cannons.
The best skiing is on the North facing pistes.
The lower slopes are all fine due to use of the snow cannons.
It was around -5 all day today and we got a couple of inches of snow.
It is currently -11 and snow is on the way!
The aire now has several spare spaces and we have moved to a flatter spot.
