Skiing?

If anyone fancies somewhere different I have been here, each pitch has it's own large heated bathroom. It is a 5 mins from the slopes and the ski bus stops outside.

That looks amazing. Will have to keep that in mind for next year now.

Not sure where we're skiing get this year just started thinking about it. Jan had a really nasty fall last year and it's really dented her confidence so have to take it easy.
Come and join us, I am a nervous skier too. Colin is a nut case but he tones it down to ski with me.

Will you stay at venosc? Just asking as I think the aire there is forbidden in winter unless things have changed again. Anyone know?

Going at Easter so no problem with the Aire. All roads clean and dry. We will stay at Venosc again, it was a lovely campsite. Can't wait :)

Re Ruthiebabes question Les Deux Alps - Aire http://www.airecampingcar.com/aire_camping_car_gps.php/810-Les+Deux+Alpes

I think this is saying it is shut for winter period??? If I have the right link? or is it only overnighters?? Shame - seems Venosc is only option but seems there is minimum 4 nights stay there - and canny trek up that first chair to get to first lift
Steve

Depends on what they call winter period, No dates on the site from what I can work out. The campsite is a good option and not too far away :)

The snow is a little thin in the Alps at the moment!

Fingers crossed for a bit more, especially at GB!

Snow still next to non existent below 2000m!:xsad:

Rather annoyingly, it looks like a direct route to VT. It would have been nice to have gone elsewhere!

Let's hope for a massive dump (of snow!) before Christmas!

Currently out in 3 valley's at courchevel (le praz) no ski to door but from 1850 good snow.

Friends in gb and other resorts all complaining about lack of snow....I'm sure it will come montgeneve has plenty on the bowl. ...

Let me know what your doing Rory as our plans have and are changing just me nikki and George and no need for school holidays so thinking first week in Feb instead...you can keep George company whilst I enjoy a more leisurely pace with Jan on my new blades

Me n George :xblink: bloody hell you don't expect an over 60 to ski with him do ya?
We don't have any plans yet as you know we don't do organised very well. Would be great to meet up though maybe I could do leisurely as well.:xrofl:
Merry Xmas to all the family:xThumb:

Any further reports from the lower resorts anyone?

Poor very poor. .11 degrees yesterday and people in t shirts.....
to warm even for snow canons to work at current time....

Head high and start praying

Looking like Xmas at LM then New Year at VT.

Not what we planned but better than having booked a hotel at a snowless resort!

Daughter is skiing at les Deux alpes this week. Good snow up high, nothing low and afternoons a bit mushy. ......but at least there is snow.
Are there any good aires in the area?
Still booked for feb, 8 weeks to go, a lot can happen yet.

There is a good campsite at the bottom of the mountain, close to a lift station which takes you into the resort.
As for an aire, that would be question for the more knowledgeable!

todays report is of Pissed off skiers looking across grassy slopes shaking their heads wondering whats going on and the authorities saying its coming its coming and people replying Christmas is too

The new cab covers won't get much of a workout!

Great snow at GB now

The camp site is Champs du Moulin and is a lovely campsite. We are going back there at Easter. There is an Aire in the coach car park as you enter LDA, however someone posted recently that it was closed. I can't find out enough information to say if that is correct or not. It is a coach park and I can't imagine they would close it!
