Rally Shrewsbury VINTAGE show 23rd-28th June 2022

With what's been going on the last couple of years with shows and rallies being cancelled I am reluctant to try to plan too far ahead BUT I know you lot are eager to get this years calendar booked up so here goes.

We have done this before and a few funsters have attended and hopefully enjoyed it, the family vintage show is on Shrewsbury showground and as the name suggests it is "vintage" cars, bikes, tractors, steam engines, plus stalls and even tractor pulling sometimes, we camp on the showground so you have to purchase two days admission for the show (price to be confirmed but it's not a lot of money)

I have EDITED the above to reflect the fact that the Vintage show itself will now not be on this weekend BUT WE WILL STILL BE THERE.

the lovely town of Shrewsbury is a 15 minute average walk and boasts two YES two Wetherspoons, and some decent pubs as well;) railway station in town if you fancy an excursion and if anybody wants to do a canoe trip again that could be organised.

Price will be £13 non electric or £17 with.

The start and finish dates can be a bit flexible, we will be travelling there from the Bridlington "race the waves rally" so might be earlier than the 23rd.

Let's say 40 places to start with and I will blag more space if required.

Yes I know it's all a bit informal at the moment so just put your names down as interested and stick it on your calendar, we will sort the details later.

Usual facilities, water, elsan (including drive over black tank) EHU and rubbish bins.

If anybody wants to help marshall that would be great;)(y)

Hi Martin, is there room for one more little one please. Last time I looked this was fully booked with a long waiting list but I see you have increased the numbers now. Would make up for missing the New Year at Shrewsbury.

You are right I limited the numbers until I had been and measured up to see what space we had, then it all changed anyway when they decided to move the vintage show to a different weekend so we can now have more room anyway(y) so long story cut short "you are on the list"

Hi Martin - see the Vintage Rally has been cancelled, according to their website anyway. However we have decided we will still come on the original dates as it will now tie up with something else we've got planned.
Just letting you know in case you are holding our place as a "maybe". We'll be there, look forward to seeing everyone again.

Thanks for that, yes my last I heard was they couldn't make up their minds when they were going to hold it, if at all so we are just carrying on without them and I think most people are happy with this arrangement, the "upside" is that we can have more space and a better position.

And we can go canoeing again if anybody has missed that bit(y)

You are right Paul and worth reminding anybody looking in that NO there will be no vintage as it has been cancelled(n) shame really but we will still manage to entertain ourselves I am sure, and there is still plenty of space on the canoe trip if anybody fancies, any solo's fancy the canoeing we will just pair you up on the day or you could take a single Kayak if you fancy.

to be fair Martin, the age of most funsters makes this a Vintage rally in itself.

I don't know who Margo is so I will answer instead;) YES loads of room, you are on the list, do you want to come canoeing?
 
Hi Martin.

Can you confirm the dates ate still 23rd to 28th. I see in the original post you say they are flexible and I am looking to book some club sites either side of the rally.

Hi Mike

Yes those are the official rally dates but if you needed to extend it by a day or two we could talk to the showground admin and I am sure they would be able to accommodate you.
