Hi, we are new to MotorhomeFun club, we only joined last October. We would be interested in going to the Shrewsbury vintage show please?

Thank you David and Sally, how do we get on the reserve list? We would want an electric hook-up please?

Like buses ;) all the year to go at and everything comes at once.
Hi Martin, havnt got a clue what we are doing next week never mind june  but we really enjoyed your meet last time we were there, but don't want to take a place up that someone else might be sure of, but if there is any chance closer to we would like to come if there is a space.

Hi meadowsa

You are on the resereve list so now just keep your fingers crossed that some people above you drop out or I find some more space, keep an eye on this thread for any updates or you could even go to the top and click watch and get an alert when there are new postings here.

Hi Chas

Yes I know what you mean, I have put your name on the reserve list and we can see what happens as it's no hardship if you get a better offer when the time comes, "you gotta be in it to win it"

We are 4th on reserve list with electric but will do without if it means getting on the rally thanks

Hi Martin. I can now confirm we are definitely attending the Shrewsbury rally. 😊
Bu@@er, I'll need to source some Broadside now. ........................

I might be persuaded to part with some Steve, if Rita and I can have "The Grand Tour" of your new passion wagon. ;)

Cheers,

Jock. :)

Right it's update time, please read.

I have had a conversation with Jan at the showground re this rally, of course she is not in the office as that is still under a few feet of water from the recent flooding, anyway the conversation went along the lines of,

-hi Martin just to let you know the organisers of the "Vintage Rally" have decided to change the date of their event;)

oh brilliant, when are they going to hold it now?

-they don't know, they could hold it a week later as part of the Shrewsbury live event but they are not sure at the moment

can we still come and rally that weekend?

-yes of course and the good news is you can have more room(y) there is also a food and drink festival on in the Quarry

could we move our rally a week later if they decide to have the Vintage as part of Shrewsbury live?

-yes we would find space for you but it would be more limited

CONCLUSION

So as you can see from the above conversation things are still in a state of flux, we can still rally on our original dates BUT it would be without the Vintage show, BUT there would be a food and drink festival in the Quarry, https://www.shrewsburyfoodfestival.co.uk/ for those that are not familiar with Shrewsbury the Quarry is a large park area that is used for outdoor events but it is the opposite side of town to the showground and about 1.5 mile walk.

Of course Shrewsbury is a lovely town and it is very easy to fill a few days here just wandering, sight seeing, cycling along the riverside etc etc so while the loss of the Vintage show is a disappointment it's not the end of the world in my view, we could even do a bit of "messing about on the river" that's canoeing and paddle boarding for those that have not done this before.

I will update this further when there is a decision re the Vintage show.

Makes no real difference to me, If dates change will not be able to attend. But as the organiser, as always we are in your hands, not literally of course.

Thanks for the update funflair, think we'll give it a miss as we're busy the two weekends either side anyway.
Was really looking forward to the show too.

You can remove me from the list (no25), and look forward to either the new date or next year 👍🏻

Hi Rob

Yes it's a shame as we have missed it the last couple of years with Covid and thought this years would be good, hey ho, I have removed you.

If the rally is a week later, it then clashes with the British F1 Grand Prix for which I have a ticket...
...so obviously I'd prefer the date to remain the same, with or without the vintage bit.
As you say, Martin, plenty to see in the town, and the food fest.
