Martin. If we stick with the same dates will Jan let us have a venue for get togethers? I will have my gear with me but be reluctant to use outside unless no rain forecast.

OK Stephen, you are right of course and I think the best bet is leave it as it is and if the Vintage does move 1 week people can have the option to stop on for that.If the rally is a week later, it then clashes with the British F1 Grand Prix for which I have a ticket...
...so obviously I'd prefer the date to remain the same, with or without the vintage bit.
As you say, Martin, plenty to see in the town, and the food fest.
Can certainly ask the question Robin, it might cost a little bit but I am sure we could cover it if you fancy doing somethingMartin. If we stick with the same dates will Jan let us have a venue for get togethers? I will have my gear with me but be reluctant to use outside unless no rain forecast.
I had a feeling that plans would have been made Jock so it's too late to go changing now and the Vintage committee still can't make up their minds anyway, I have a feeling that they might miss the bus.Vintage Show or not, the original dates would be preferable for us, as we'll be coming up to Shrewsbury from Dave & Polly's Hereford Rowing Club Meet, and had planned to be in the area for a good week or so anyway.
Cheers,
Jock & Rita.
Yes thanks for that, that really was just a list of those that were on the reserve list to let them know they have been bumped up I have edited it to hopefully avoid any confusion, the full list is always on page 1Hi Martin funflair , I think your list on post #113 may not be the full one, it’s short on my iPad.
We are ok with the original date.
It’s a pleasant walk in to Shrewsbury anyway and the food festival is a bonus. It would be great if a few more funsters were able to to be included. The bonus for us without transport is the accessibility to transport in Shrewsbury should we need it.
This will be a good venue for first timers as looking at the list there are a lot of experienced funsters who have in the past helped me who are attending, so a good one to get to know people.
Wouldn't need to be the main building. We used an open ended barn last year at the Norfolk show and had a good evening. Can certainly ask the question Robin, it might cost a little bit but I am sure we could cover it if you fancy doing something
DoneHi Martin with work commitments and being in Shrewsbury the following week we would like to be removed from the list please.
You are on page 1, no steam engines though, sorry.if there's a place we will definitely come
Understood I think the original weekend for the Vintage is "dead in the water" but will leave you on for now.Much as we like Shrewsbury the real attraction for us was the Vintage Show. The dates are not a problem to us but if the show does move to the following weekend, and the "meet" doesn't, we will likely cancel.
However as "The Committee" haven't made their minds up please leave us on the list for now and we'll decide when everything is finalised.
Just one I guess it's not Rita then.x 1 for canoeing please Martin.
Cheers,
Jock.
No chance Martin.Just one I guess it's not Rita then.
DoneHi Martin
I'm very sorry, but could you please remove our name from this rally as we are no longer able to attend.
Thanks Rosemary and Jim
No problem we can put you with Jock seriously though don't worry it's just a leisurely paddle so you won't need any advanced skills.I would be interested in canoeing, but have no experience
Its a lovely trip, and should be fairly straightforward at that time of year., also very convenient that it ends at the showground which itself is on the river.I would be interested in canoeing, but have no experience
Being a local Jon what can you tell us about the Food and Drink in the quarry? Its a lovely trip, and should be fairly straightforward at that time of year., also very convenient that it ends at the showground which itself is on the river.
No probs Martin, we ve been several times but pre covid. The quarry itself is a great location by the river, 20 minutes-ish walk from the showground. Nice show with lots of local food producers and crafts. always used to be plenty of samples and some great options for a different lunch, Goat Curry, Smokers, wood fired pizza, Cheeses etc, Quinoa if thats your thingBeing a local Jon what can you tell us about the Food and Drink in the quarry?
If you put him with me, we'll be entering the Bristol Channel in no time at all.No problem we can put you with Jock
