Rally Shrewsbury, messing about on the river 2-7 July

Right all you peeps that want electric can you take any spare leads that you might have at home as you may be a good way from the post, any problems we will just scrounge them off somebody that isn't on electric.

We willbring our 25m and I think 10m (Couldbe a 15m)

I don't think Sandra Armytwowheels has given this a plug on here yet so here goes, Sandra and Colin have committed to swimming 10 miles each in July in aid of "Breast Cancer Now", I am sure that there are not many of us who have not been touched by this disease in one way or another so I am hoping that the weather is favourable for them to do a swim at Shrewsbury OK it won't be the full 10 miles as they need to break themselves in gently, I am sure we will all be behind them with a lot of support and a bit of cash or possibly even the other way around(y)

Keep a watch on this thread for when its all happening and lets give them our support, no pressure Sandra and Colin;)

I am sure that the Kayak and Canoe paddlers will make themselves available as "escort party"

Thanks for plugging our efforts Martin.

Personally I will be made up to achieve a one mile swim in one swim. Maybe if we go with the flow and walk back we can do a mile or more. An escort would be amazing and make a great photo for Breast Cancer Now. They are asking us to send in photos of our efforts for publicity.

I will have a spare cable Friday to Sunday special weekend funsters discount apply if your accompanied by both grand parents

2 person canoe booked and paid

Does anyone know anywhere between Kent and Shrewsbury we could pick up a 6kg propane bottle? None available down here. We have a refillable and one non.

Just rang Bratby gases in Shrewsbury, he said he might have some in on Friday but couldn't promise anything.

Try Watling Street Grange on the A5 between the M6 and Telford - if that’s the route you’re taking.
There is also a big Dobbies Garden Centre at Gailey if you are coming along the A5 which might have stocks.

Just another reminder where our area is when you get to the Showground as there are other groups in as well,

Through the main gate and keep the black and white hut to your right side, follow the road past the office buildings and you will see us at the top of the field 👍

Janine Ive rung both places before we set off. No gas in Debbie's but Watling street Grange will refill out empty bottle for us. Thanks again.

The BP about 400 yds off M54 at junction 7 always has a good supply.
turn left off the slip road and go along to you see the Red Lion pub before entering Wellington.
I can check in the morning if you wish. If so PM me your mobile no

Looking forward to meeting some new people at this meet. Work commitments meant we can't leave until Friday morning and should be there by midday. I assume there is a tap somewhere for water fill up? Should we look for that first before finding you?

As you approach our area of the show ground there is a blue hose hanging on a wooden pylon where I guess you will be met by Funflair as we were. Beware the water pressure is very high....

A big ask but is anyone from the south wales / bristol ish area on the rally that could pick up a bike and an inflatable canoe off two members also on the rally and keep them at home for 10 days? I've just had a Covid test come back positive so cant go and collect them. Pretty please !!
