Can you recommend that bench Drill Boris7
im after one too
It’s actually a pillar drill (view is obscure) but they do a bench version, it’s 7 years old and used most days, it’s a warco https://www.warco.co.uk/ my only issue has been the table clamp needs to be tightened if your using it repetitively.

Warco normally have a number of sales days each year and you can get good bargins, but obviously covid has changed this.

I bought my pillar drill new in 1996 £35 from a tool seller at a steam rally it’s still going strong nearly 25 years later.

John.

This is my pillar drill, Elliott Progress from the 1960's weighs a fair bit, I can also pop in a milling head for light cuts.

The Jones Shipman compound table is from the 1950's a real heavy solid bit of kit.

I had a new electric roller door in green fitted and new double glazed window to my 7m x 3.5m garage 2 weeks before Christmas, repainted it externally during lockdown, and then found a leak in the roof where a roof nail had missed the roof truss, this had held for approx 18 years and then suddenly decided to leak.
I’ve repaired the leak, now waiting for better weather to pressure wash the roof and coat it with Acropol roof paint.
I’m fitting a new plastic floor in grey and British racing green in my own design but run out of tiles and awaiting for supplier to open on Jan 4th.
I had the floor tiles off this company . http://plasfloor.co.uk/
Ive ordered 50sq meters of double foil double bubble insulation off Amazon for the walls and I’m going to batten the walls and line it with 12mm ply.

John.

ps this is the design of the floor when finished.

Here is mine I got rid of all heavy tools such as my lathe etc as at my age I don’t need them now.
Ready for a couple of toys the tiles only took a day to fit during March lockdown.

My garage is precast concrete and I’m going to insulate it with double foil, double bubble insulation and then clad in plywood or OSB board.
would you fix the insulation to the concrete walls or would you fix it to the plywood before fixing to the battens.
Also which would you use the OSB board or plywood?
Thanks,
John.
Ps I’m thinking of buying this to put in the garage when finished.

Why insulate? It's likely to be a draughty place (and needs to be).
If condensation is a problem, just insulate the roof to stop drips.
If you really want to insulate (and make a room of it) I'd consider insulated plasterboard (like Kingspan) but would only use shelving that stands on the floor.

Been there too, bought a very nice DB34 Goldstar couple of years ago, but found I could barely start it, let alone ride it, looked great indoors, sold it.

Nice, are they the same "plasfloor" tiles as previous poster. Probaby something Ill go for. The bare concrete floor that is laid in mine isnt floated smooth but just tamped. Will they be ok do you reckon?

Here they are easy to lay the rear is honeycomb so do allow for some discrepancy alternatively use some self levelling compound before hand

A coat or two of floor paint helps a lot with dust

That's why Jap bikes became popular😊.

You'll see from my pics that I used expensive 2-pack floor paint. Keeps things much cleaner and floor doesn't show tyre marks.

Getting garage envy from this thread. I used to have a nice big double garage with my Hot rod in, my T4 camper, my surfboards, my cruiser bikes, workbench, storage etc etc. I can’t talk about it anymore. Now I have downsized it all had to go And it’s just not the same.(y)
