Should I Say Anything?

:devil:Had this problem on a site in fort William. Owners left 2 dogs in a caravan and went out for the day .dogs were very noisy reported to reception who tried to get into van to get them out .then police involved and van window broken into to get dogs out . They weren't very happy on return .it was a hot day .they left the following day.

I have pulled up at Armacão de Pera and, despite the football club being PACKED with motorhomers, at least MY spot was available.

In front of my spot is a Blighty van.

The couple closed up their van and went off for a walk.

From the moment they left, their dog, who wasn't invited to join them on the walk, has been howling and barking NON STOP.

I just don't understand some dog owning motorhomers...

Do you think they know their dog gets so stressed?

Should I say anything to them?

JJ
Unfortunately some so called dog lovers neither know no care how their dogs are when left unattended in a car or van, some are not fit to be dog owners, but don't expect the same response from these inconsiderate dog owners as you would expect from funsters, they might just tell you to f*** off and mind your own business it's guarding our van or worse. Be warned.

Yes definitely. We have a little dog and if we are away in the motorhome and leave him in the van he’s fine with this as far as I know but if he wasn’t and he spent the time we were away barking or howling I’d really want a neighbouring camper to let me know.
Just say it politely and in a friendly manner as they will probably be totally unaware of the dogs distress and when you tell them they will no doubt feel upset enough when they find out he/she has been unhappy. I’m sure they’ll appreciate and thank you for your concerns.

Unfortunately our dog has to be left periodically, the Hospital won`t accept us taking her, sometimes this can be 4 or more hours. We both HAVE to go as SWMBO is barred from driven currently, having severely damaged her femur between two prosthesis, and is in a wheelchair virtually full time. The`van hasn't moved since Mid June!! ? ? ?.
She barks a few times at home or in the van then just settles down and sulks until we come back. We know this because I can (and do) have the Web cams on and one can be aimed at her Bed!. BUT when we come back the damn dog goes potty, throwing "chews" and her toys everywhere!. In the `van, she often lays on the seats when we are out, but is always back in her bed when I open the door!!.

Our dogs are fortunately fine when left for a few hours either in the house or van. They know were coming back and take the opportunity to catch up on their sleep. I hope they would bark if a stranger came snooping around but Im not sure they would.
No need to leave windows open, just roof vents and close blinds on the sunny side.
Mostly they come with us as they dont have to be tied outside shops, I have a wife so dont need to go shopping.
