Rally Chat Shell Island September

I'm still pondering on this one, am unable to have time off in September but I finish work at 4.30 on Friday's . It is over a 5 hour drive for me , so may drive half way and join up on the Saturday . If I do will stay till Tuesday as I do not need to be back to work until Wednesday.

Ok can't emphasise this enough it is not a rally it's just that you may be there at the same time as other funsters . Shell island do not allow rallies . We hope to be there from the 4th of Sept . Kate x
 
We won't be at shell island till the end of September now. But some of you ( retired lot ) may still be there !
We're going to make a holiday around the Pembury rally. We're really looking forward to doing some touring around Wales in Pug. By the end of September It should have quietened down , tourist wise.
Ralph's never been , though I've had some lovely childhood holidays there. He's been busy planning our route.

Sorry poor internet so only just seen your post @caleta42 as Brian has already said just turn up the island does not allow rallies you will just happen to be there the same time as a few other funsters . Will hopefully will be there from the 4th Sept :)
 
Just a reminder a few of us went last year and had a great time, word has spread, we were lucky and had amazing weather, so we are doing it again and quite a number of funsters are also going at the same time but nothing formal or organised just funsters (friends) there at the same time, so please when you pull on don't ask where the Fun Rally is just watch the thread and as people get there no doubt we will be putting what part of the Island we are on.

How long are Funsters planning to be on She'll Island for in September? Have not been to one of the Funsters Gettogethers before and wouldn't crashing in on this one! We are doing the Macmillan Cancer Charity walk around the Gower peninsular on 11th and were planning to go on Europes largest zip wire which is near Snowdonia. A work colleague had mentioned Shell Island as had recently seen on a TV programme and was planning on going there about 13th. So back to my original question....any Funsters still likely to be on the Island? Ken
 
@kenhaus would say that will depend on the weather if it s good then yes I should think there will be, if it's wet probably not. :)
 
Just ordered my Funster windscreen sticker, so will look out for same when we get there !
 
Gonna half to miss this year as off to Brittany 1st Sept, but there's a def for next year if there is a rally there.

I wouldn't give "crashing" a second thought, meets and rallies are not compulsory or for everyone and although I enjoy being a member of the forum they are not for me.

I had planned to go to Shell Island in September long before the subject was raised on here, I will still be going but as an individual like hundreds others. You don't need to declare yourself or take part in anything. Just don't display a sticker.

You will never be accused of crashing at a gathering of funsters..... all are made welcome to join in the fun as little or as much as they want to , we are a very friendly bunch (y) come and join in and see for yourself, as Carol has already said if the sun is still shining there will be funsters there :smiley:

We have just got home from a week on the island and what a place
We had 3 bad days of very strong wind and rail and 4 days of good sunshine
The island is amazing and fantastic beaches it's the biggest campsite we have ever been on
If you have never been before don't just set up in the first place you find ride around it surprising what you find especially around the sand dune area some fantastic little hidey holes
There is only 1 elsan point up at the back of the the bar area so if you don't have transport it's a long way so be careful we had trike and our daughters car so it was no problem for our selfs
We will defiantly go back our 2 grand kids had a ball
 
Hi, only just picked up on this thread. Never been to Shell Island but read a bit about it. Do we have to book, or is it just a turn up and enjoy place please? May try to make it if we can

Hi just turn up . if you book you will be charged extra. Please note this is not a rally as the island does not allow rallies. Do not mention that you are with a group. You will just be on the island at the same time
 
we hope to come on Sunday 6th, will there be anybody left? or more importantly shall I bring more alcohol?
