It's a 52/36 so not that big. Just looks big on a small frame. The rear is, I think 11/28 8 speed so plenty of gears for her.

I had a trackbike like that but it had a back tyre.
Phil
It’s 67 tooth. Used by Graham Obree 67/13 fixed for training and TT’s in the Highlands!! Here’s the finished bike with rear Deraileur this time ? , 13 top. My cousin owns it now.

Had a short ride today as I’d made some alteration to the bike.
Attempting to make it fit me better ?

Anyways I think the bike rides better now but, I also had my first crash today ?
It’s a steep learning curve ?
Scratched my glasses as well ?

You got up dusted yourself off and cracked on with life ?

This is the result of a little 'off' I had a while back. What I didn't know until a few days later was that some ribs had gone as well. The main thing was that the bike was ok. ?

I've not ridden on the road since 2018 when a maniac knocked me off deliberately.. The bike was repaired and sat in my shed for months till I gave it my son for commuting. I used a WattBike Atom for a year or so once I was able to weight bear on my shoulder but it's no substitute for proper cycling.. Maybe one day I'll get back out... I am due to have some CBT sessions to "compartmentalise and deal with the incident" then hopefully I'll put the anxiety to bed and get back out there... finger's crossed

Having read back through some previous posts I may need to re-categorise myself... I never knew I was a snowflake.. I just have SWMBO telling me "you're not going back on a bike on the road"

Well after 2 days off the bike. Had my first ride of the week. Was out with the head warden so if it's not up to speed I have a alibi. That's my excuse and am sticking to it??‍♂️

When you said "hurt yourself" I thought you meant "injured".
Here's one I took earlier. Broken shoulder not shown as it wouldn't all fit in one x-ray.

Motto of the story is, never trust a Scottish car driver.

Until last year, I always kept a spare bike at my daughter's place near Telford and then when visiting, would try to use it in that lovely and much underrated county. She is a solicitor specializing in 'serious & catastrophic' injury.

She tries to keep fit(running) so I suggested that she should use it whilst it was there. To which she firmly replied... No thanks.

She then went on to remind me that 60% of her clients were cyclists ?‍♂️??‍♂️?

Sort of relevant but not on the injury front. Hope you guys have all recovered.

Interesting link about Strava becoming a pay to use service for most of the functionality. Bit of shame in my view but that's life.

I’ve started using it but only to see what and where I’ve been ?

Was reading that last night. Will see today if I notice anything different (am on the free app) then may give the paid one ago 60 free trial. I like the segments. Don't kill my self over them but nice to see improvement

Well Strava seems ok to me. Still showing the segments I've been on. Got another PR for the climb also all segments on way back where PR's
Can now get up the hill (Burley Climb ) in 3rd gear ( which to me is little one at the front and 3rd at the back.) Soon be moaning I need bigger gears??‍♂️

And another ride done. Cut it short as it was a bit warm. Really do need to take a drink with me. Might nip out later if it cools down. Always have my week target in mind and don't want to be forced into doing silly miles at end of the week. Would rather have a few miles in the bank. If you know what I mean.

A quick 35 miles today. First time I have had to stop because the swing bridge was open.....

Arrived in Southport and found the tide out....

I thought the canal was closed due to Covid 19?
Phil

People live in their canal boats round this way. If you don't have a home where else do you self isolate? Can't see it being a problem....it's not as if people can get within 2m of you as you cruise down the canal :)

We also have who live on the canal, same canal just 30 miles east. Out of interest I went to look at the canal near East Martin and ,yes, there is movement amongst the boats. And very nice to see too. I also came across these, I think it's an anti-lockdown party.

No ride today. So here's the excuse. We were cutting some grass. Getting the site ready for hopefully opening. We picked the dog walk area as me Les and Pip are the only ones to go down there.
