On the way to Bala on the B4391. It's a fairly long, but not too steep, climb. Spookily quiet, yesterday.

I'll hopefully be able to post some French Strava rides after 11th May once lockdown is eased a bit. It'll be nice to be able to use a bike without being fined £150

Yes 11th May is D-day here too, schools are back?

Rest day here. Might start researching things about road bikes?

Road bikes are the new toilet paper, there is a shortage, not down to stock but down to shortage of bike mechanics able to assemble.

Its 100% to do with supply. No decent brand has any stock of sub £1,000 bikes. Could be end of the summer before some have good supply again.

IMHO, if the budget allows, I would stay clear of sub £1,000 bikes ... they might be useful to get started but they will become frustrating quite soon.

Second hand options could be considered.

Longish ride to get to Croy hill to do some MTB trails, some are actually on the Antonine wall , thanks Romans ? Most of the ride was along the Forth & Clyde canal towpath.

Still not got down to actually cycle track round the water. So have to stay on the roads.

Why can you not use the cycle track around Rutland, has someone closed it off?

Lovely day for a cycle.....

New saddle to test out. I have wider than average sit bones so now have a Brooks B17. If it was good enough in 1860, it's good enough for me! Being 175mm wide it is as comfy as an armchair but not good for the weight weenies at 450g. With my weight though that is not going to make a difference....

Anyway...17 miles done at an average speed of 12.7mph including a PR up Greetby Hill (4% ascent). Good enough for a test.

Messed up today stopped strava at Co Op instead of pausing it.
So to rides today. Both over 13mph average. Am calling it 13.5?
And again smashed my time for the hill down to 8mins 6 secs?‍♂️ like the wind?

And forgot to say didn't need to use lowest gear for the hill.

I've been out breaking in my new Brooks saddle. It takes about 100 miles to break it in but it was more comfortable than any other saddle I have tried straight out of the box! So 41 miles done 59 to go.....

Can you set the app to auto pause? I know I can on both my Garmin watch and Garmin GPS. If the speed drops below 3mph it auto pauses. Useful when I have to stop at level crossings to let trains go so it doesn't affect my average speeds etc :giggle:

Yep you can. But for some reason just pressed stop. Got to I knew battery was low so may have been over eager. Think it was more with it being above 13mph didn't want it to add a slow walking pace.
Basically I messed up?
