Serious Question: Should we allow Caravan Tuggers to join this club?

image.jpeg

If it was a closed shop... "Motorhome owners only"....

What would happen to the quite a few that don`t even have a motorhome, let alone a caravan or a trailer tent....

Would we get a "REFUND" on our subscriptions if we were booted out..???? :Eeek:

Leave it to anyone who wants to pay and join or join and pay.....:nod::nod:(y)
I see what you did there. :giggle:

Has the Queen reclaimed their house then?

I'm still not sure if this thread is meant to be taken seriously. :) But if it is, then as others have said, there's nothing to stop tuggers joining and several have. I suppose the issue is should Jim be actively promoting the site to tuggers? Perhaps changing the name to Motorhome and Caravan Fun?

It wouldn't bother me and an influx of new ideas would do no harm and probably be a benefit. I'm all for evolution. :)

Tuggers now seem to be accepted on Spanish Aires in Andalusia, so who are we to draw lines in the shifting sand.

I think the label ‘tuggers’ should be ditched. We are all better than that?

‘Draggers’.....’Pullers’......’Towers’......’Toadys’........any other suggestions....?

I guess I must be in the wrong place then...

Oh well, subscription ends in June so no point in renewing it, it was fun reading things most of the time but there does seem a constant theme against people with caravans / travel trailers etc.

So I guess, 1 last photo of what we decided to import last year that was practical and would work for us

I might still pop in on the odd occasion but will refrain from posting any more (Not that I have been able to help much anyway...)

Of course, all campers should be welcome! we've all been there, done that and eventually when the funds have allowed we've bought a Moho.
Your right, going from 3 Caravans to a Motorhome hasn’t made us better people!

Nope, next door neighbour has a twin axle Swift and proudly calls himself a tugger......

A Tugger is an affectionate term for a caravanner. Most every member here has been a tugger at one time, and plenty of them will revert back to tugging at some time in the future, As ever, and unlike most every other motorhome club, they will still be most welcome here, even if anyone notices.

But I have to say, if you get upset by the term tugger, then you are in the wrong place

I think I speak for most when I say there isn’t really any anti caravan sentiment on here.

Leg pulling yes.

Well, I guess it had to be ‘leg-pulling’.....or ‘tugging’, perhaps.......?

I’ve gone from driving to tugging, the only benefit is I can get about after I parked up, (if you can call that a benefit). I didn’t want to be dragging a little car behind the rv as it would have made it about45 foot long, however the SUV and van are about the same length. :giggle::giggle::giggle::giggle:

NO !!!! they may claim to enjoy the same outdoors as us but they are a different species and not biologically compatible.

Exactly. I pulled a van for 4 years and spent the better part of my childhood summer holidays in one. If I saw a UK tugger stuck on the verge of an Italian motorway looking morose, I'd certainly want to stop and help if safe to do so.

Not sure about a trailer-tenter though. I do have some standards... ::bigsmile:

Me too. Seven metre van and five metre Hyundai, traded for a seven metre moho and five metre trailer for our titchy Suzuki Ignis. Mrs DDJC decided she wanted a moho because she felt we would use it more.

Irks me to say that she is correct. The old van went out twice a year. The moho gets a run six times a year (school & bank holidays), and when we retire, it will go out ten times a year.
