In the military hangar these soldiers were missing their girlfriends and wives in the Second World War.

I’ve seen a photo of some type of US fighter jet with a similar painting just by the pointed refuelling nozzle. It was well done and I imagine caused a lot of laughs. Have tried unsuccesfully to find the photo. But it was well done, I must say.

I was going to go on the zip wire yesterday at Durness bay, I was all bravado on the way saying no problem can’t wait, anyway when we got there it was closed yesterday.

I went upto to the start platform took one look and secretly said to myself “Thankyou god” for it not being open.

Caz said” Well you can go on tomorrow when it opens” I said to to her”I can’t go on tomorrow it’s an early start we agreed” Phew, Me and my big mouth.

Some bugger up there likes me after all.🤣

Hi, are you calling at Plockton on the way down. Very pretty and despite a no overnight sign locals ok for you to stay at far end of car park. Toilet and shower there, good pub Plockton Inn, live music on Thursdays great food. A good friend of mine Jimmy Ferguson will make you feel welcome if he is in (ex RN submariner, Lt Commander)

Thanks, no I’ve not heard of it, where is Plockton?

It is a few miles north of Kyle on the coast, Hamish Mcbeth and the The Wickerman were filmed there

Lovely day again we’ve been so lucky with the weather, it’s been glorious and so has Scotland.

Just back at the van having a Dark Island beer from the Orkney brewery have to say it’s bleeding awful, I never read the label properly, flavours of roast coffee, dark chocolate and dates. Whatever next.

I’ve seen that on the menu at a couple of places what the hell is it?
Cullen skink, one of Scotland's most famous dishes, is a hearty soup that is traditionally made with smoked haddock. The name of this soup comes from Cullen, a small town in the northeast of Scotland. Skink is the Scottish term for a knuckle, shin, or hough of beef, so most soups made of these parts were called skink.

Googled 👍🏻

Scrabble now again, Albert Steptoe plays a cleaner game than Caz when she’s had a couple of Gin and Oranges, the vicar of Ullapool would have a heart attack.

I mean is a cock really a chicken and tit a bird?

Can you get banned from Scotland?

If you’re going a walk tomorrow pop into the candle shop on the corner across from the terminal, they’re all made by adults with disabilities. The money helps them and the candles are great value for money.

Certainly will especially as I work in the sector.

Did you not read the sign for the zip wire?

No need to be scared as you'd have failed on at least one of the requirement restrictions!(y)

A number of good laybys on the A9 manyof which have a cycle path seperate from the road carriageway so walking the dog is less stressful for them.
Be aware of the speed limit on this road and the average speed cameras.

Pitlochry now parked up, we are just wandering into town, Caz has always wanted to come here after a brief drive through about 40 years ago.

Ferry Road car park is free from 6pm until 8am and £4.80 for the 10 hours 8am until 6pm. No charge Sunday at all.

I had the best fish and chips ever from a shop in Pitlochry en route to Inverness. Lovely place,

My best fish and chips were in Inverness!

Looks like you're still having a great trip.
That zipwire is an absolute bargain for £15 compared to the one in Wales! Shame you missed it Paul:laughing:
