Schengen possible relaxation rules

There is a ‘Digital Nomad Visa’ - Google it. I’m not conversant with the requirements, but I believe it does not require residency.
That is a 'work' permit, ie it's meant for those who want to work remotely in another country, ie via the web etc, and don't need to be in their home country to do so, and/or their business doesn't need them to be in a particular country to run it (eg freelance website developers etc), it's NOT a permit that a visitor who just wants to tour around could get.

You said about us having to follow EU rules on how things are made my point is if we wanted to trade with the EU without customs etc how could we unless we follow EU rules
but this thread is about travel not trade. my point was yes EEA membership could help travel but at the cost of screwing up the point of exiting. Not a price many would be happy to pay to sort out a few old peoples holiday/retirement plans

There’s a Facebook group named “British in Greece”. It is a fantastic source of information. It is where I got a lot of information for my five year residency permit/golden visa.

I tried that FB section but no help on D visas.

I have since found other info that says the Nomad visa has the same requirements as the D visa, and then on another law firm's website that the D visa does require confirmation of accommodation for the period of the visa, so I have concluded that they are all non-starters for extending the 90/180 for MHomers.

Where are you going to live in Greece, presumably you know it well. I know the islands and some of the coast very well over 30 years on my boat, now passed on.

This might interest some. 🙂

But you have to remember many other nationalities come to Spain in the winter months, it's certainly busier this year at this time than usual. 😁 Bob

Probably might not give a true figure in considering the effect of the 90 day rule on British tourists as there's no indication of the length of stay. Presumably that could be extracted from the data but they could nearly all be on a couple of weeks break.

My view regarding the relaxation of rules is that despite all the speculation and differing opinions in many instances from many who it will not effect but have to put their oar in, it will happen it’s bound to the Spanish Government want it to happen and they will respond accordingly if their wishes are not taken seriously.
We just have to wait and see when or await the alternative plan.

Yes the families on holiday for a week or two, they are the ones that spend the money. 😎 Bob.

I have purchased a villa on NW Corfu. Will live there for a few years, then 6 months on/off. The MH (2018 Hymer B534) is purely a pet taxi to transport me+Mrs+3xdogs+parrot to/from Corfu for the next ten years. It’s a more civilised and secure way of travelling, rather than flying the menagerie in cargo hold of a plane.

If you want to freely export into the EU with no customs how else would you do it? It's what Norway do and several others. We aren't going to decide it on here. I suspect it's going to have to get a lot worse economically before it would become palatable but certainly things aren't looking that great at the moment .
If it is on the bbc, is it the truth or the bbc interpretation.

The figures are from the oecd. Of course there's always the head in the sand approach a bit like giving big tax reductions without asking for any figures but it doesn't always work out that well
