Scam or legit?

Definitely a scam. For the amount of money you will part with you need to see and test drive it before you part with any money!

Just to prove he’s genuine he’s just sent me his drivers licence photo🤣

Okay it's a passport and not a driving license.

I can't find a birth registration for him in Southampton!!!!! You could ask him his mother's maiden name and if Southampton is in Lancashire (the GRO index shows a record of a birth for Damien Martin Fagan in Lancashire registered in the third quarter of 1966).

Is his wife Lisa or Kelli?????

People have photocopies of employees passports for all sorts of reasons.

Why so sceptical? Totally legit as far as I can see …….. oh, wait a mo - Companies House says he resigned from the business in May 2019! Do the other directors know about his moonlighting? :ROFLMAO:

Agree with everything said but just done a Google on them and the actual company looks legit.
Have a Google see what you think.
Company House listing looks legit (they also have another linked motor company that has good reviews) as does their domain name registration. Would I touch them with a barge pole with that business model? NO.

Probably isn't even him, he works for Hague Motors Limited.

The scam site is simply Hague motors. Co. Uk
I would not judge them on that basis as web site address very often doesn't mirror the limited company details, the domain name was registered on 10 Feb this year:unsure:

Scammers have cloned the legit company details, built a website, and are now waiting for unwary punters to fall into their grubby mits.

The company address is also a serviced office used by multiple businesses and probably a mail drop or forwarding site for them.
Out of interest how do you know the legit company has been cloned? the address is an accountants so again quite normal to have that as a Limited company registered address as far as I know.

Pretty standard scammer MO that I’ve seen on a number of occasions elsewhere.

The last was an operation purportedly offering high end optics, night vision and thermal imaging equipment. The company appeared on the face of it to be legit - Companies House entry mostly tallied with the website information given - but everything was slightly out of kilter; spelling and grammar issues; photos on the website cherry picked from multiple sources; stock, (which always, without exception is priced at well below the going rate), always ‘somewhere else’ and not available for viewing and/or pickup; general vagueness and evasive when direct questions posed. The address given was later found to have had a postal redirection placed on it. This situation has all those hallmarks to it.

It’s a sad fact that in times of shortage of any item people can let their guard down in an effort to secure a purchase - I won’t say they become more gullible, but sometimes caution can be suppressed - and that’s what the scammers prey on.

I’d happily be proved wrong if it meant someone didn’t lose their hard earned, but…….

One of the biggest giveaways in this scam is if you reverse search for some of the images. See my previous post further up.

Just for kicks and giggles, maybe someone should invite him to join this group? Just saying

Hi Everyone! It's my first time here and I need your help :) My husband and I are currently searching for a used motorhome for our family and we came across a company called Hague Motors. The company seems to have excellent motorhomes for sale at astonishingly low prices. I filled out a form on their website and received a reply the next working day. It turns out the prices exclude VAT (20%) as these vehicles are re-possessed from people who unable to continue their leaseback contracts. Even with added 20% the motorhome we are interested in works out 4-5k (!!) LESS than on any other website. It seems too good to be true to me.

I asked to view the vehicle but it isn't possible - the company advised they closed their warehouses and staff is working from home due to Covid. They can deliver the motorhome to my address for a fee (£150) and I can return it within 48hrs if I don't want it (for any reason). But I need to pay for it first - bank transfer only (I asked about the credit card). I can't find any reviews on this company. Their emails seem to be 'copy and paste' and contain grammar mistakes. So many red flags - what do you think?

Thank you in advance!
Kaja
Send me a tenner and I'll tell you

Scam or rubbish business model. Either way there is nothing to suggest a sane and sensible person would risk their money finding out. Move on - you have already said it sounds too good to be true and you must know the old saying . . . .

Tell them you want it and will transfer cash including delivery fee once you see and inspect the van at your home address.
You'll never hear from them again

Every photo of their 29 caravans and 58 m/homes on their website seems to have been taken at a different location which tells me the photos may be cribbed from elsewhere, e.g. eBay ads.
Seems odd too if, (as they say), they have 'warehouses'.
Also odd their filed accounts don't appear to represent the assets held for sale per the web site re value, nowhere close, only two employees as well. I'd steer well clear but apologies in advance if anyone comes forward to state/prove they are a legitimate business. As everyone else is saying though a legitimate business would do whatever they could to let you see the vehicle. The other odd thing though is if they aren't legitimate or have been cloned by scamsters you'd think you'd see summat on the web publicity wise, is everyone that wise to it that no ones been caught out?

I suppose it is just possible that the seller is acting as an agent advertising owners' m/homes for sale on a commission basis..........
(However, his comment about 'staff working from home' and 'shut warehouses' [in Penzance] is curious since he appears to be located 'Oop North').

He’s a crook I enquired last night about a Hymer, now getting emails to say exactly what the OP said, what a conman Martin Damien Fagan is.

Vehicles are in Penzance he said, you can’t view because they took the decision to close all their outlets because of Covid and all their sales staff work from home.🤣🤣

I told him luckily I live just outside Penzance and would appreciate a quick look. Out of the question Martin says I need to trust a professional company of integrity 😄

Judging by the post from the OP some people must get taken in, it’s incredible, no offence to the OP, but to actually create the post asking if it’s legitimate you can see why some people get conned in all aspects of life.
Can you obtain the IP address?

Just realised they are in Penzance, they have Pirates in Penzance, off to steal your money no doubt... This thread is musical theatre gold

If you look at the address from their website on google earth - there aren’t any Motorhome’s!
If you look at their address shown on company's register its a farm, again with no MH's shown.

I’d beat Usain Bolt away from this one,,,,,

Strange you can see the number plates... Most dealers/private sellers cover these up. A few of the LHD 'number plates' don't look real, they look 'photoshopped'. The ones I've checked MOT/Tax for all check out but The Hymer B634 hasn't been taxed since December 2020 and MOT ran out in December 2021. it certainly does look dodgy. It would be interesting to crowd fund the £150 on the forums for the 'delivery' and see what happens........
