Scam or legit?

Hi Everyone! It's my first time here and I need your help :) My husband and I are currently searching for a used motorhome for our family and we came across a company called Hague Motors. The company seems to have excellent motorhomes for sale at astonishingly low prices. I filled out a form on their website and received a reply the next working day. It turns out the prices exclude VAT (20%) as these vehicles are re-possessed from people who unable to continue their leaseback contracts. Even with added 20% the motorhome we are interested in works out 4-5k (!!) LESS than on any other website. It seems too good to be true to me.

I asked to view the vehicle but it isn't possible - the company advised they closed their warehouses and staff is working from home due to Covid. They can deliver the motorhome to my address for a fee (£150) and I can return it within 48hrs if I don't want it (for any reason). But I need to pay for it first - bank transfer only (I asked about the credit card). I can't find any reviews on this company. Their emails seem to be 'copy and paste' and contain grammar mistakes. So many red flags - what do you think?

Thank you in advance!
Kaja
You know the saying,
"if it seems to be too good to be true"

Go to a reputable dealer, if you pay a little over the odds, your money is safe

Every photo of their 29 caravans and 58 m/homes on their website seems to have been taken at a different location which tells me the photos may be cribbed from elsewhere, e.g. eBay ads.
Seems odd too if, (as they say), they have 'warehouses'.
Yup. Someone with more time than me could do a reverse image search and probably find the original source

It has to be a scam. Check the address - Multiple companies are registered at that address. Where is their stock?

The prices speak for themselves. No other research needed . Ask yourself a question . If this was a genuine company then how much profit would they make on the sale of the motorhomes at those prices ?

I believe there is no vat chargeable on repossessed vehicles. I once purchased a van and there was no vat on it for that reason.
There is no vat on secondhand motorhomes anyway only on the dealers margin.

SCAM
Im always lookin for motorhomes for sale and ive never seen them before

If your asking the question then somewhere inside you know its wrong.

We have a local dealer who has been in business for years. He refuses to let customers test drive before purchase.
Says it’s an insurance limit
I say upgrade your insurance nice and add £50 to each van to cover it
I walked away
Genuine sellers will be as helpful as possible

Can't spell either, *Haigh* is a district of Wigan which is not in Leigh not quite nearly right! Check out the adds for the appalling grammar and spelling as well!

Looks good and I can see why the unwary could get caught out.
I‘m always wary of any text/email/advertisement where the grammar & spelling is odd!
Definitely give this one a miss!

He’s a crook I enquired last night about a Hymer, now getting emails to say exactly what the OP said, what a conman Martin Damien Fagan is.

Vehicles are in Penzance he said, you can’t view because they took the decision to close all their outlets because of Covid and all their sales staff work from home.🤣🤣

I told him luckily I live just outside Penzance and would appreciate a quick look. Out of the question Martin says I need to trust a professional company of integrity 😄

Judging by the post from the OP some people must get taken in, it’s incredible, no offence to the OP, but to actually create the post asking if it’s legitimate you can see why some people get conned in all aspects of life.

He was a director at Hague motors but is now resigned, Hague motors has been going since 2003/2004 and all accounts filing seems to be up to date.

I haven’t looked at that all I know is he’s a conman regardless of his history, when I say I live near Penzance where all his motorhomes are stored in his warehouse, then he says all his says all his staff have the new Covid variant omicron so there is no staff available to arrange a view.😄

After very careful consideration we took the decision to close all our viewing outlets 😄 and all our staff have omicron

Send us the money and we will deliver it anybody falls for that then it’s incredible.

The seller doesn't seem to have realised that the OP (who hasn't reappeared since their first post) seems to be in Poland from their Profile flag.

Probably isn't even him, he works for Hague Motors Limited.

The scam site is simply Hague motors. Co. Uk

'A trusted name' wll in all my years of motorhome obsession have never heard of them, now know i can't have heard of them all but something so slick would ave caught my eye if genuine. Run run run

If you look at the details of the website, it is hosted across the globe.
Not only in the UK, but also Brazil, Moscow, Berlin, etc.

This is quite a big and fairly sophisticated scam, I'd presume they have set up similar websites in the other countries and are probably more interested in getting in non-UK based 'buyers'
