Rvoc & mhf meet at rutland water - attendees list

yes, very well done from us too.

we will still come albeit a fair trek for us... 340miles round trip:Smile: not even going to work out how much fuel will cost, otherwise we won't get off the drive!!!
are there shops near by ie walking distance as we may well leave the car at home to cut down on fuel usage
please advise

many many thanks
x

They have/had a couple of shops in the village, a fish & chips and Chinese, about 1.1/2 miles....plus a small garage a mile down the road.....few years since i`v been in that area, so it might have changed!!!
PS
they have showers and a toilet block, and waste dump!
and the car park area i think you will be on is massive.

Gawd - you sure know how to make us feel bad, but, unfortunately, we won't be coming. For one point, we were only at Stratford a couple of weeks ago, another - we have 2 doggies this week and they aren't really compatible with our new upholstery when it is sure to rain again and 3rd, youngest granddaughter has her 7th birthday this week and it might be nice for Granny and Grandad to be there for a change. I'm really, really sad that it has worked out this way but I really am grateful for all the trouble you have gone to and wish we could rise to your dizzy angelical heights. Thanks for the trouble you have gone to and we'll enjoy the Delia sausage rolls I've made (and the Millionaires Shortcake).
:cry::cry::cry:

Hi.
I have conflicting distances!! My sat nav is telling me 90 miles, allow a couple of hours. Google maps is saying 4 hours! Cannot get mappy to work at the moment (usually most reliable)

When I put the postcode into the sat nav it comes up with
Campden Road
Lower Quinton

Is this correct?

I'm at the c&CC site at teversal, Sutton in Ashfield at the moment.

Any travelling advice gratefully received!

My google maps says 86.4 miles for you M1 - M69 - A46, 1hr 58 mins
We are in Doncaster and it says 115 miles for us

Hi Nigel & Pamala, Bob & Jane, and anyone else who was/is helping out as marshals.

Sorry, it's not often that we pull out of a FUN meet, but circumstances dictate this time. Rutland is on our door step, and with work schedules being what they are, (no stand in), we could have arrived late Friday afternoon.
With the alternative venue being in the Stratford area, and Friday traffic being what it (always) is, it's not for us.

Many thanks to all those involved with the task of finding an alternative and suitable venue at such short notice.

Our utmost respect for effort, :thumb:

Thank you. I'd actually looked back through previous page and found Jim's co-ordinates and put those into sat nav which gave same mileage so it must have it right!
Not as far as I thought, which is a bonus.

Look forward to meeting you all Sunday.

If you have problems just ask for the Drag Strip or the old army camp!!
This might help......

Long Marston Sports and Leisure
Long Marston Airfield
Stratford Upon Avon CV37 8LL

Really easy to find, 6 miles from the centre of Stratford, just off the B4632
(if you are over 3.4m / 11'3" high you must approach from the North / Stratford side)

We have more HARDSTANDING than we know what to do with.
A really great FUNCTION ROOM with disabled access.
Ladies and Gents TOILETS.
WATER tap is just before 'Reception' van, filling up before booking in would be handy
Ground level WASTE point.
All for just £5 a night!

Everything will now go ahead as planned
We are so looking forward to seeing you all here
:party2:

Will have to arrive a day later than planned. Will now be there Monday between 4pm - 5pm

I have PMd Mad Floss explaining the hall is also on a generator system (generator is far from the parking and you cannot hear it, we also have a completely genny free zone) It is preferable that everyone is self reliant for power, as we would have been at the other venue. Many thanks, Jane
