Run to the sun….

Went to Terre d'Ocean and it was busy and couldn’t get a pitch with a view so would have just been a stop over so I went on to camping Aourir where I’ve had recommendations and seen the work they do in upholstery, it’s an ok site with shop restaurant and pools and clean toilets big scalpings for roads so a bit of a pain but I’m here to chill and get upholstery done… seen the material and colour I want so he’s coming later to look at my van and give a price…

My hands were really aching yesterday with all the pushing about I’ve been doing I think, feels like the arthritis in my thumb joints but this ache is more in my wrist this time….🤔

So 5-7 days here will do fine, I’ll get some pictures later…

Had a good drive down…☀️
Google Armstrong and Miller sketch about caveman’s son sharpening spear. 😜

Evening all. Belated north from Cornwall. Weathers better for a few days. Didn’t get on yesterday at all as dealing with insurance issues from crash!

Hope you get your upholstery done I look forward to pictures.

Garry Does your wheelchair not have electric? Mind you with their sand everywhere probably not great.

If you're going to be in Portugal anytime soon there are also a number of estofadores you can try

For some reason I think Tiznit is the place for upholstery?

Hi MitchandJenny

We’re currently in Tafraoute for another two nights then on towards Aït Benhaddou for a couple of nights, then over the High Atlas to Marrakesh before returning slightly earlier than planned to Spain.

Not sure if you've done it before but the road from Agdz to Ouazarzate is pretty spectacular scenery imv.

I would check the weather before trying the High Atlas pass, wouldnt be fun if icy! Thursday is looking questionable but insh allah.

On a previous trip, we left Ait Benhaddou in glorious sunshine but the snow gates were closed so had go all the way down to Taroudant to get back.

We’re going to be heading towards Ouarzazate from the west. The scenery looks pretty good that way too.
Got new Michelin Cross Climates on but we will keep an eye on the weather. We had to leave Merzouga earlier than planned last year as there was a big dump of snow forecast.
Cheers for the heads up though.

Paul

There is a huge Solar dark at Ourzazate apparently all done with mirrors.
Enjoy the trip.
We had a sandstorm which turned a Motorhome over (write off) then same day a Snowstorm and finally torrential rain. !!!
What a day and it was. Jenny’s birthday !!
She won’t forget it though.

Be aware there's been an earthquake and the road from marrakesh is in a mess according to Jackie's polarsteps

Will try Atlantic park, they have upholstery there, if not I’ll leave it till tiznit or tafraoute…😏
The guys who do the Moho work at Atlantic Park are probably the same guys who do work at Auorir.
In fact we had an insulated screen made for our Concorde when we were in Tafraoute. We’d spoken to the same guy when we were in Auorir.
The Moho guys travel miles to work, but bear in mind you’ll pay more if they travel up to Tafraoute.
Tafraoute should be avoided until late Feb imo, as it’s bloody freezing up there in January.
We had fibreglass work and painting done at a camp site in Tiznit. Three guys worked Saturday & Sunday and the cost was peanuts.
Be wary of trying to cross the High Atlas this time of year. We were held up 4 days at the snow gates on the Midelt to Azrou road waiting for the snow gates to be opened.

I'm in tafroute now , been here 5 days . Its only cold overnight but even then not cold enough for heating. Daytime I'm tanning and in t shirt n shorts so it's far from freezing lol .. the back of my neck got sunburnt this afternoon

Atlantic park is full and people queuing…😳

Parked in agadir with some other vans at a car park seems ok for the night. Had a walk along the beach, now having some lunch then up the cable car thir afternoon… tomorrow down to tiznit if we can get in on the campsite as I’ve heard the municipal site is full..🤔 seems a lot of French in big groups going around…

I was told the Moroccans don’t like the French but they do everything to accommodate them…😆

They like the Brits because they support Morocco over Algeria for the Western Sahara & they like the Paddy's because we support the Palestinians in Gaza so it's win win lol 🙂🇬🇧🇮🇪

Well the French did colonise and imprison the king did they no.

There's a lot of the morrocs don't speak French either. It's all Arabic half these lads in tafroute speak . Only a few speak French and only one speaks English. Was his day off today. My Google translate has been well used

Been to Tafraoute in January twice now. This year it's slightly colder than last but only when dark. Was sweating on our hike yesterday 🥵
We'll be crossing the Atlas soon too. Just have to check the weather before setting off.
