Run to the sun….

Yes same car, in Ceausescu time, the Ro car production was exported about 80% to Middle East and Africa. The renault 12 is the dacia 1310. Renault-Dacia partnership goes long way back, and the Dictator used to export them under renault 12 or dacia, depending on destination. Iraq is full of them as Sadam was good friends with Ceausescu.

A few from yesterday, during late afternoon they set up loads of pop up restaurants in the square and that’s where we had the seafood last night… didn’t get hassled as much as I thought we would and has a pleasant time haggling for some items we bought.. it was an overload of sights sounds and definitely smells… we had a great time..😎
Great pics, glad to hear you enjoyed Marrakech 👍

Actually….. no she didn’t…🤣

And I certainly didn’t, all the fish had bones in but the flesh pulled away easily, very tasty and nice all of them, there was calamari too but I’d already eaten that before the picture…😋

How much better are their toll roads than the non-toll ones?
The toll roads are very similar to French Peage. You see the French in Liners with toys who just go to a place in the sun after xmas and stay there until the weather is ok back home.
Crossing of choice for them tends to be Sete Nador.

Another thing I’ve noticed is no matter how much of an old scrap heap of a car is I’ve noticed that they all have good tyres, crap brands but good tread. I wonder if they would get done at all the road blocks if they had bald tyres…🤔
Probably each village casts their own tyres mate, recycle is the way forward
The roads are that shit you need new tyres every other week lol

As is Turkey.....there's millions of them but then they were manufactured there too

I have thought this for a day or two but didn't like to say for fear of upsetting a certain person.
It's like they are in different countries.
It's because it's garrys first time and he's been on campsites and toll roads for most of it.

If you like campsites , guardian parking etc then it's a different experience.

I've been avoiding the towns , medinas etc as I've seen them all before.

As I said on my thread my main reason for returning to Morocco was for my paintwork.

Everyone's tastes and experiences are different.

I read Tams thread and I think no I’m not going to Morocco. I read yours and think yes let’s go! 😂

I’m glad I’m inspiring some people to go to Morocco, it’s definitely a marmite country but it is what you make it, expect the worst and you won’t be disappointed but you will be surprised about the good bits and of course it depends on how your travelling… I only did tolls the first two days to get to a destination, now I’m acclimatised I’ve got no tolls set. I’m using campsites and guarding parking because that’s what there is where I want to go…

Me and Tam have different itineraries, I’m on holiday and he’s here for repairs, I like a bit of life and showing Cintia the sights whereas tam likes a quieter life.

Seemed quite quiet for a souk

It got busier as the day went on but I wait for an opportunity when theirs not many people so you can see the surroundings and not just a mass of people, I wouldn’t like to be here in the busy season, I for one wouldn’t like it…plus it was a week day I imagine it would be busy at weekends.

I quite agree as Tam says your on your first visit and you are not travelling alone you have your friend with you who looks lovely in what I presume was a nice outfit she bought. You want to see the sites as he did last time he came, but asked him is a lone traveller and he’s not very happy being in crowds and eating out, you definitely have different experiences. I also think the fact that you are travelling in a pair, gives you someone to to talk through your experiences whereas Tam only has the dogs. And they don’t chat back to him.

Carol, I can confirm the dogs do talk to tam… and he does answer them, I’ve witnessed it…😎😉

Dogs don't half talk ... Our Bella is a right chatter box, Minky eyeballs us and makes noises like a monkey when excited about something and Tazzy just give us 'looks' but after 13 years of having her we know exactly what she's saying!

Speaking of repairs Tam, you should ask them boys that's doing your work who they use as their courier for stuff and we'll see if I can get this brake cylinder down to you within a day or 2 instead of you having to wait around for me to appear which could be feck knows how long Tafraoute would be close to 1000km from Tangier Med
So that's your mission for today lol find out who they use and I can get it sent down as soon as I get off the boat, I know FedEx, DHL & others operate in Morocco so let me know what's happening 😉

(Just realised this is Garrys thread but I'll stick the same post on yours lol)
