You are an inspiration to us all, Bill. 99% of MHF members would have walked away from that motorhome. Looking forward to seeing the finished job. Bet it will look amazing.

It's gone all cloudy today down here so I got a bit worried for your open roof.
Looked up forecast for Goole, not a drop in any forecast up to a week on a Thursday. Looks like by luck or accident you have picked a good time for this job.

It has Chuck it down today very hevy Rane but no leeks exept for the sky light I removed and did not re seal placing new dry cardboard over the floor tomorow and setting up one mother of a Rane storn
In a few days when I get the wood back in place
Very pleased that there is no exes water
I put a bit of toilet tissue on a stick and poked and prodded it did not pick up any water or got damp
Bill

The BBC weather app got it wrong!
Glad it's all survived.

Got a bit of time on the roof today removing all the horibil gorilla glue that the tape left behind ben on it since abut 8am this morning my feet are kilning me standing on the ladder unfortunately my camera phone is broken.
so no pictures for now but will up load progress if i can get the wee-mans phone to work he broke his as well but think i can get that working.
Removed all the gunge covering all the roof seems thes are ready for redoing with stekaflex if that dosent seal them nothing will.
removed a aluminum strip to find noting under it just wet gunge this will be removed and cleaned up and stuck down with that silent that hard to spell.
Working it in with a stiff pant brush that will be both sides of that seem watertight i hope i will give it a good hosing down to make sure.
Tying a few difrant solvent to try and find one that will thine it down to make it like a paint think i have fund something but wont publish till i am sure it will work.
we feet rested back to work

Great job Bill, clearly a man of many talents!

Seems to be no end to what you can do, including fixing the wee man's camera on his phone. I struggle to change a bulb !

Following with interest (y)

Well it ben a very slow job today just scraping cleaning and getting rid of all the old silicone mastic it all has to go to make sure nothing is missed fund a few holes in the ally where the wood has reacted with it.
this will need cleaning up treated then sealed both sides.
All the corrosion is where rotten wood touches aluminium this in manly isolated to the old roof trusses
once filed with sealant both sides the corrosion will stop.
It will then be sanded down and panted with a tanking flexibil fibber coting this stuf is used to seal leaking tanks in the oil industry I know it good stuff I have used it and its totally flexibill will move with the roof will seal any imperfections permanently don't see a end to this one any time soon
if this had to go to a workshop to be done it would have ben beyond economical repair just in man hrs
but loving the challenge
