Try Magnums at Grimsby Bill. Not far from you in Goole .
That's where Ralph got lots of his stuff from when he built Pug. You'll find absolutely everything you need in there , worth a trip over.

O'learys at Hull is good too, website shows only a fraction of the stuff they have.
Wouldn't worry too much about the woodwork if i can build a stud partition am sure you will do a marvellous job.
Now to persuade John to put up the floating shelves I bought before I retired, would have done it while he was away but think he has hidden his drill and mine died years ago.
Will be watching this project with great interest, love seeing things being not just restored, but improved.

Skylights are often the source of leaks, I think ideally they need to be removed and resealed every few years, the last motorhome I had a few years ago I removed every skylight and every window and renewed the mastic sealant just for piece of mind
On my new motorhome there's a few marks around the large heki sunroof which the previous owner said had been caused by it being left open once but I'm not sure if it's been that or if the seal has failed at some point, having looked at the seal it does seem intact but I'll be keeping a close eye on it.

Is that ductape that someone has stuck around that bill? I know it's good stuff but nit sure it's up to that job

I think once you've resealed all those joints and skylights and redone all the wood it will be good for many years to come.
Big project but a fun one and always a great sense of satisfaction when you've made something better than it was before

Love this thread @Wildbill and @scotzsue, love old things being revamped and recycled, can't believe some of the things that are dumped at the tip and not taken to charity shops. Not brill at diy but just rescued a toy tractor destined for tip and done up for grandson.

As Sue has said looking forward to work in progress! :)

Thing with all that tape, at least you know where it's been leaking ,some good sealant around there and you are half way there(y):)

Starting at the front I have dug out a channel in the insulation to ade more wood this will be inset in to the wall
With a tenon joint dug out of the wall struts.
Gloed then free expanding foam
Used to help fix it in place

And Polly urathan glue

beware trying to cut a tennon joint into the old wood. I would use a couple of stainless steel angle brackets

I think you are wonderful revamping this old van. I will read your progress with interest.

Just pope the head outside
Bill
Ha ha I've just been in this very same position, I'm itching to get on the roof of mine and reckon I can get up through the heki sunroof, looks like I've a few bits to touch up with sealant ( previous solar panel mounts left open) and give it a good clean and a Polish

we all crap in a plastic box, in a room the size of a wardrobe, then carry it away to empty it.

We are not all the same...

I don't have a plastic box.

Mine is made of aluminium/insulation/wood composite built on an alloy frame and topped with a one piece, moulded fibre glass roof.

I don't carry anything anywhere... I just drive over the disposal point and open the slide.

Just saying ;)

Today's gap left by rotten wood
Not the light shining thrug what the rotation wood has caused carosion
This will be treated with a Good clean then panted with steck flex yes when it's clean and dry ruged up it will stick like s:swear2: to a blanket
Every whar wood has been in contact with aluminium and not Ben isolated by mastick has roted the alloy
I will clean up and treet both sides what carosion is obvious
Bill

It's gone all cloudy today down here so I got a bit worried for your open roof.
Looked up forecast for Goole, not a drop in any forecast up to a week on a Thursday. Looks like by luck or accident you have picked a good time for this job.
