Petition: Amend PCSC Bill to withdraw power to seize vehicles used as mobile homes

The majority of local authority and beach car parks are governed by TROs which prohibit camping. The majority of cupermarket car parks are governed by terms which ptohibit camping.
The abuse is committed already by those who ignore those orders/terms.
Rather ironic that existing abusers complain about abuse then :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
I dont camp in carparks ive told you that before.

I park in them

True but then there is the hotline to the local residents association the local councillor etc etc. We have seen the double yellow lines go down in areas that have become popular in the recent lockdowns driven in the main by local resident associations so let’s see maybe Im wrong and would happy to be so.
Double yellow lines stop all vehicles parking (except those with exemptions, eg disability badge holders) so it's not just MHs that must be the problem otherwise they would have kept the parking and put up signs banning MHs, so this is a bit of a 'red herring' to use as an argument against the new law to ban MH parking specifically.

Councils seem more than willing to make TROs and put double yellow lines on roads. Same goes for new Residents Parking Zones.

You can take a view on this - it could be part of the general war on motorists; or, it helps bring in revenue from fines and permits, or a bit of both.

I see you still don't know what you are talking about. Your opinion, in this case, doesn't matter one jot. What matters is what the law says.
Whatever.

When you have actually lived and ventured out the uk you can then tell folk they don't know what they wre talking about till then i think its perfectly clear who it is that doesn't know the difference between camping and parking.

Anyone can be a robot .

I choose not to be.

As for the law ....its an ass and always has been.

You have greater faith in humanity than i have. That single van tucked away doing no harm just needs 1 obnoxious person to phone the police and report it and under the new bill it will be told to move because someone has complained.

The police notoriously love easy targets and fines. Moving one van is far easier than moving a group where they may encounter resistance.

This law will be abused no end
Why are you ignoring the fact that only if a van owner refuses to move, Then action can take place. If you are wild parked and someone complains, then the Police turn up you will be asked if you will move on or refuse, if you do refuse only then will the police take action, they will not be interested in 1 or 2 vans minding their one business. This act is squarely aimed at the traveller community who arrive on a football pitch or Council owned land and only move when they have trashed it and robbed the locals blind.
I wish the traveller Council should be talking to their own and the local authorities to reduce the reason for complaints maybe then they would be tolerated a little more.

As above and I hope that's an end to it
If that was all it was then every uk publication would not be running with the headline " trespass bill threatens to make wildcamping illegal"

Because it scares people shitless and sells papers?
Or its because history has shown the tories never tell the truth about anything .

Its strange how none of them are running with the headline " new trespass bill eill bring an end to pie keys"

I don't generally believe much thats in the papers to be honest. ...but i slso think there's no smoke without fire

If you look at the other thread regarding gb uk stickers for example how many didbt believe that at the start of the thread but once its now in several papers etc they start to believe it.

The police currently have plenty powers to have acted on these issues ...they often chose not to ..

Much of this bill is unnecessary and is open to abuse. .... mostly in England and wales to be honest but it will affect uo here too.

The paper should have aimed their headlines towards a new law's to control the traveling community behaviour. Nobody is interested in any travelers problems so they would sell zero papers.

That's like saying that people that vote labour are lazy gits, on the make with their begging bowl and their sad faces! Not true either!

Another good article.

Because once again it doesn't just cover travellers.

Fox hunting protesters , HS2 protesters etc etc etc

But once again more so England and wales ...

Again you say this like its a bad thing (y)

Another out of date irrelevant article.

So you support the torture of wild animals by upper class w@@nkers and the destruction of over 20 ancient woodlands and animal habitats to get bankers to london 5 minutes quicker?

Talk about conflation of two issues. The Guardian article was pure speculation before the bill was even public. Walkers will not be getting their motorhomes seized. The illegal encampment aspect of the bill is about motorhome and caravans, not the great unwashed tieing themselves to trees or hill walkers.

The whole bill is rolled in to one so it covers many things ......there are many reasons why it needs ammended

Or scrapped.

Stealaway beat me to it, the headlines very rarely are backed up by facts, quite often the Journalists contradict the headlines with their articles.

Tam, could I suggest you take a break as you appear to be getting a bit uptight about things.

Why are you trying to turn it political when we have a good government trying to something every government before has been afraid to do.
The sooner the bill is pasted the better, you would understand if you lived in an area where there lowlifes descend.

To be honest you could be right

Because apart from the fact i happen to own a motorhome i increasingly find i have very little in common with most others on this forum 🤷🏻‍♂️

IIRC Tam Northernraider on your last "stress free" excursion to Greece you were always more than happy to move on whenever the police asked, or even when they showed signs of being interested...
  • Why would you not expect the same here?
  • Are you aware of perhaps Greece having a similar law to that being proposed here?
  • Or is it that you're a considerate FLT, who doesn't stay where he's not wanted, and pitches where he causes no inconvenience to anyone else?
