How would they know it was overloaded? Why would they think it was overloaded? Who weighs all the pieces? Is this what the insurance companies would accept if van involved in accident whilst overloaded?
News to me. 25kgs +/- for a plate bridge was the Avery allowance.we all know a plate weighbridge tolerance is +/- 100kg for a plate weighbridge

Hmmm. My Benimar is often quoted as having a small payload. However:You need 200kg for manufacturers options to start with, awning another 45kg, 2 additional batteries 60 kg 3 solar panels 25kg, TV 3kg, Sat dish 10kg, spare wheel 30kg That's 373kg before you even start loading it. A full water tank is 160kg. So now we have used 533 kg and the van is empty.
Wouldn't work for us I've fitted 2 extra batteries & 300 Watts of solar, always travel with a full tank 160 Lt.Hmmm. My Benimar is often quoted as having a small payload. However:
1. The only available option is an auto gearbox.
2. One battery is included in payload.
3. Spare wheel as standard.
4. Solar panel is standard. One works fine for us.
5. Don't need an awning.
6 Half full water tank included in weight. Dont need do carry more when on the move.
7. SAT dish and TV neither wanted nor needed.
By my reckoning that's saved 593kg! Easy.

Really?most vans will be well under MPW ( Max permissible weight)
That is your gross weight (MAM). That is the total maximum weight the vehicle can weigh.our payload is 3400kg..
I'd settle for it being stated, in writing, the actual weight as sold. In other words the weight of it as standing on the Dealers premises.Perhaps we need a term like “Forecourt Payload” which is supported by the already mentioned weighing certificate. The Forecourt Payload would be the MPM less the weight of the vehicle as presented for sale, a statement of how much fuel/water and driver weight was onboard when weighed might need to be added. This should be particularly useful with second hand vans where the dealers probably still quote the mythical brochure payload, if they bother to give any payload information at all.
Hubby and i totally unaware of payload, have 5 berth hymer camp, ( dealer never once mentioned weight) we never asked, as completely unaware,( learnt so much being part of this forum) dreading the thought of us being overweight, our payload is 3400kg..due to go to the weighbridge once van gets new tyres and fully loaded up, feel like we have been had ( fingers crossed we're legal)

not true for every action there is a reaction ,so the downforce would equate to the weight of the birdIf she flaps her wings and doesn’t perch she won’t weigh anything.
spongy
You'd have to persuade her to perform a steep dive at the moment of weighing the van.not true for every action there is a reaction ,so the downforce would equate to the weight of the bird
