We like dining in Castle Douglas Bill & Newton Stewart has got a lot better for dining pubs in the last couple of years. I'll get my thinking cap on though.
It's been a while since I've been in The Ken Bridge, but it used to be really nice & The Clachan in St Johns Town of Dalry is good.

He was angling for an invite for some home cooked scottish hospitality 😉

Have you a pub nearby ?

Glencaple. Donation to the community to park at the pier on the Nith. Great cafe, public toilets and a hotel 50 yards away. Elsan and water nearby. Loved it there recently and watched an otter hunting the river. Great tidal bore too . Look no further. You're welcome!

Sunset at Glencaple. Galloway Gold (one of my very favourite beers, brewed in Castle Douglas and sold at the cafe/ restaurant..food is great too....delicious) at the picnic table watching this. Highly recommended.

Wildbill Isle of Whithorn Elsan disposal point currently chained up and out of action due to vandalism. Fresh water still available though.

kyaking out in the harbour at the isle is great if you time it with the tides . Probably 11August for best time as high tide is 11.48 am, 10.51 on 10 August and 9.44 on 9 August.

have a great time in the area

Isle of Whithorn ( not actually an island) is great. Lovely village, toilets, elsan if it gets fixed, good pub and good food a short walk away.
Don't miss the car park at Mull of Galloway lighthouse either. Single track road to get there but well worth it.
Dumfries and Galloway is a brilliant place for campervans.

I'm a fan of Malibu, cut a fresh pineapple into wedges, pop it in a Ziploc bag with some Malibu and brown sugar for a few hours, sprinkle a bit of cinnamon on it, then pop it on the bbq, delicious with some Kelly's clotted ice cream !

Tonight was a bit of a disappointment I am not no cutlery expert but the food was disappointing.
I can eat anything put down to me but even I had to send it back
We walked out and.cooked sumthing our self's
Bill
Good on you! I'm a great believer in speaking up, sometimes they don't know unless you tell them. Not quite the same but I asked staff in McDs today to make sure chips were hot, they weren't so went back for fresh ones, by the time I waited on them my tea was cold, took that back and you can guess the rest.
