Lots now
After dropping our current motorhome back to the iveco main dealer to sort out the brake warning they had supposedly fixed, I got a phone call and follow up email from Premium Motorhomes, your new motorhome has been released from the factory and is getting shipped tomorrow.
We are so happy we will get it before Christmas ready for our trip into spain on boxing day.
Just the horrendous job of transferring the funds 🤔😮🤣.

I just hope northern commercials sort out that warning light ready for the handover next week or Premium are not going to be happy.

The idea of a pvc is always enticing but we do spend 9 months of the year in the motorhome and I feel we would miss the extra room an a-class gives us.
That's very true, when I was fully retired I always had 9m big A class vans but after my retirement boredom set in and I developed my own 555 system, I now work 5 hours a day, 5 days a week, 5 months of the year (split over the year) I love having the little pvc I currently have (on my 2nd one now) but for long term use like you guys big is definitely best

Considering the last time we saw you (at the Hereford rally) our plan was just to buy some electric bikes at the dusseldorf salon, we ended up upgrading to a new motorhome.

PUBLIC WARNING
Please be very careful that caravan show is a very dangerous destination.
I know that from experience too 😄 (in our case in Barcelona)

We have it all packed up in our business storage ready to be placed inside the new one, the handover will be very quick.
 with all that new Garmin tech running the habitation you will need a full week training course I think, maybe you can do it online though;)

I understand that completely. We’ve always had PVCs. It was initially me who encouraged the idea of motorhoming and fortunately Nick loved it but he wanted a small van. He also wanted to drive as well as me. It’s 6.4 metres but I’ve never been able to sway him on the width of the van! It’s most unusual for me not to get my way but sometimes after 42 years you just have to compromise :giggle:

You amaze me that the word ‘compromise’ is actually in your vocabulary Carolyn! 😜🤣

I think if we were really into it and spend as much time as some in it as they do we would consider a big one (ours is 8mts).
But we are not into it so it's immitestickle.
we also like our house and garden quite a lot

I was dreaming of a large Morelo with a garage for an e-mini.
Thinking I could charge the electric car from the diesel generator.

Then I realised the irony!
Most electric vehicles are charged by fossil fuels.

They aren't the least bit environmentally friendly

And twice the price of the last one😉
That was the same with my insurance, replacement van 3 times the value of the previous one but only a £30 increase in premium with 9 months to go till renewal

That's a bit of a sweeping generalisation Tam. Besides it's not just about burning fossil fuels. Electric cars substantially improve pollution, with no exhaust output. Many asthma sufferers struggle with pollution levels from petrol and diesel vehicles, electric cars help that.

I wonder if as someone who lives in their motorhome Tam doesn’t realise Octopus is a utility company supplying non-fossil renewable energy. That or it was a good joke 😂😂
No

But the mining of the lithium and the manufacturing process of the alleged green vehicle couldn't be further from being environmentally friendly . Neither is the thought process of scrapping current vehicles and replacing them with new.

As I said there is nothing green about electric vehicles.

No more than being vegan doesn't kill insects and animals.

But it does require getting information from outwith mainstream media.

I agree replacing a car for the sake of it isn’t green regardless of the energy source. Which is why we have a 25 year old Toyota. However, I don’t think you are right to say there is ‘nothing the least bit environmentally friendly’ about electric cars, it is just too absolute. Reducing air pollution must be friendly to the environment.

Anyway I had better not hijack the Morello thread.

Isn't the most environmentally friendly vehicle overall a 1950's Land Rover? A new Morelo almost certainly isn't but he's probably taken the Rhett Butler position.
The conversation of environmental friendly vehicles is a side tangent on this thread, nothing to do with me.
However I do give a dam but not enough to purchase a electric vehicle although I'm not sure what this has to do with the sheer delight I'm feeling knowing we are getting a new motorhome next week.

There’s absolutely nothing like it, well maybe having my wonderful children but that was a long time ago!! We picked ours up on the 1st August and I still get goosebumps thinking about it. We were like a couple of kids at Christmas.

I am reliving yours and Phil’s excitement. I have no interest or knowledge in/or of Range Rovers so please carry on talking about your excitement. I can worry about my Green credentials elsewhere, when I’m reading the Guardian or shopping in Waitrose :giggle:

Our current motorhome is now in full working order.
Just got a phone call this morning from northern commercials.
We have a firm date of swap over, next Thursday.
That's going to be a busy day, after a quick handover, I have to drive from Bawtry (Doncaster) back to chester to pick Phil up then drive to Middlewich, we put our belongings in the new motorhome then drop him back at Chester then I get myself back to manchester as we are still both working. Phew.
