She has settled back in OK, thanks Mel.......... Won`t leave my side...
She loves you Mo, probably realises you need comfort as well as her.

Her bark is a bit louder and solid but when her dog walker or anyone she knows comes usually jumps up with a silly sort of exited squeal, that is just a weird noise down her throat now.. :frowny:
It'll come back, we've had dogs from rescue centres with 'voice' issues due to continually barking and they all recovered ... by heck did they! 😱 Enjoy the peace whilst it lasts. 😄

Had a call from the kennels this afternoon.......

Does Daisy eat much...... All her meals say`s I....... OH since she has been here she has hardly eaten anything... (I read that as nothing.).... she is getting a bit thin.. and just mopes about in her cage/run...

I thought you had someone lined up for her...... erm...erm no not yet....

Pack all the stuff you took with her and I will be up about mid-day to collect her...... I cannot just sit here and hear about how sad she must be...

So I am taking her back.....

Told Daisy`s dog walker and she said she will take her on when I cannot manage and will take her on extra walks from now on, with no charge.... Daisy dotes on her....

Judy arrived at Oxford and is in a poor way,,,,, I am trying to organise another oxygenator to take with all the bottles I can scrounge and go up next week...
That brought a tear to my eye .. well done.

So happy you have her back .

Weekly update on Judy and Daisy and me...
.......................................................................................

Judy is not making a lot of progress, they have had to stick a pipe down her nose into her tummy as she is eating next to nothing and there is nothing of her... I phone her most afternoons but a lot of the time she talks goble de goo.. (Rubbish.) And is likely to be at Oxford for a long time, they are now treating amongst all the other things a Heart Problem..
.....................................................................................................................................................

Daisy has settled in but still cannot bark properly the vet said her vocals will eventually come back otherwise she is healthy....
When the dog rehoming came to collect her they said they had someone lined up to take her that`s the impression I had (All Lies).. prior to that I bought New shampoo/Dog brush/16 tins of wet dog food/a new Bag of Kibble/Treats/3 big Tea-Tree sprays for dry skin plus other items so the new owner knew what she liked and would not have to rush around buying stuff...
When the dog walker collected her a week later (I could not go due to illness.) all she was given was two manky feeding dishes, Daisy`s bedding and most of her toys and a couple of half empty treat bags and half a bag of kibble... I cannot blame the dog walker, as she did not know what accompanied her..

I phoned the next day to ask what happened to all the gear that came with Daisy...... Once you put a dog in our care with whatever stuff we sort through it and send it to our charity shop..... That is theft.... NO you signed her and the gear over to us...
I have not got it in me to argue or take things further.....
WARNING........ Don`t rehome a dog or put in kennels at a big fancy house near Wimborne. Dorset...
.........................................................................................................................................................................................................

Me...... I am rough as %u(k......... But I am just into my third month... as predicted....

I don`t think I will be able to get to Oxford to see Judy... So....... :crying: :crying:

Oh dear, what can I possibly say. Its so cruel for you and Judy to be having to face up to such a situation apart but at least you know she is being cared for and she has the consolation of being able to picture you and Daisy together at home.

The loss of Daisy’s stuff isn’t important in the grand scheme of things but its the misinformation that is worrying. At least they had the decency to phone you and let you know she wasn’t eating..

Please do try to keep us updated when you feel strong enough. I know there are many of us checking in regularly and sending you all best wishes.

4 yrs in total but not consecutively. Just bought the 3rd.
Where do I start !!!!!

Right here goes............ A few weeks ago I had a call from the oncologist...... We are STOPPING your prostate cancer treatment..... I am afraid it has spread to other parts of your body, and there is nothing we can do.... 2 -3 months maybe 4 months if I am lucky..

There is only one person on "Fun" that knew this info, I did not make it public as I had not told Judy and I did not want to set her getting better back....

But I have now told her, because she is coming home this afternoon, and by looking at me she would have known something was wrong... And I was advised by the doctor to tell her so that he can inform Marie Currie to get pallative care up and running..

PS............... It is with broken heart I will try and get Daisy rehomed, there is just no way we can give her the attention and walks she needs, and dog walkers are costing us a fortune... :crying1::crying1::crying1::crying1::crying1:

As the weeks go by I will post less and less...... but will pop in on occasion to make sure you are behaving...

Thank You all for being there for Judy and myself... :hugs::::*
I’m really sorry to hear this MO BUT - is there any fight left in you? I would not give up so quickly. While I don’t want to give you false hope, I do know quite a lot of people who have had their cancer healed after the Drs gave up on them. Stage 4. I will attach some photos for you to investigate & you can decide if it’s something you are willing to try. I’m a nurse & have already decided if I get cancer, this is the route I’m going down. No chemo or radio. That said, every day each of us live, we’re 1 day closer to the day we’re going to die & none of us are going to live forever on planet earth. If you want to email me I can send you some links - dot.brad@hotmail.com. Take care…

Mo, stay strong for Judy, she’ll be home at some stage and if Daisy isn’t going to give a vocal welcome you’ll have to be ready with a new joke…. (Or maybe that will make Judy turn around and head back to Oxford, so maybe not)

Don’t stress over the crappy rehoming people, Daisy is home, so it was meant to be.

Thinking of you all xx

I'm glad that you and Daisy are back together again. Dogs can be such a comfort, and she clearly adores you.
Sorry to hear that Judy is still poorly. I hope she makes an improvement soon and that you are able to visit her.
Thinking of you all and sending you all my very best wishes.

Firstly, I apologise if I say anything wrong here. I don't personally know the people involved here but their plight seems to be above all the problems any of us have right now, so I was thinking........

Reading through the thread, I understand that Old Mo is a long way from Judy and that time is of the essence. Is there a way we could collectively get some money together quickly, so that he could get some suitable and comfortable private transport to visit his wife? Does anyone know the best way to do that, please?

It’s a lovely thought, but I don’t think that money is the issue for Mo. He has his own medical needs that make travel difficult for him too.

Having said that, Mo will probably beat me senseless for suggesting he wouldn’t want to take our money!

Thank you for that info. Would Mo be able to travel in suitable medical transport, like a private ambulance?

I'm sorry if I'm asking too much but I feel desperately sad for his situation.
