On the road again.

Well today I have to report we used the ccp app and it worked faultlessly,we are now in bray dunes, all empty and filled and parked up, AND we just used the card we had already got, no codes no nothing , waved the card at it and we were in, just like that.
One thing though it is 17 odd euros.
They are banging them up now.
Edit, it is blazing sun.(y):giggle:

I know I sound like a speaking clock, about this place but it never fails to impress me, there is everything here that there is in any other village in France if you have got good weather , if it's raining you might as well be in Rhyl but when the sun is out, for me it is unbeatable, and so close to the tunnel as well.
If you live near the tunnel you can be here and set up in a couple of hours from home.
I just can't believe it isn't overrun with Brits but it never is there was two vans here from UK this morning but only stopped for the night, doubt if they even got out.
None here now apart from us.

With that photo I am not surprised no one is staying there. They take one look and see an ambulance and a body propped up in a chair outside and drive off quick. 🫣😂👍

Back to cooler grey weather today, we have been to the market , got some bits, now having leisurely lunch back in the van.
Home tomorrow so round to Lidl next, stock up on some wine ,then it will be back to reality for a couple of months.
Tractor runs and gardening , one or two things to do to the van and hopefully some UK summer sun.

I suspect we have all been guilty of that - emerge from tunnel or drive off the ferry and then head off.

There's a lot to see in Northern France. As we invariable cross from Plymouth to Roscoff we know Brittany and Normandy well. The bit around Calais/Boulogne sadly, hardly at all.

chaser said…….There is rumour that the french can't cook steak this was one of the finest I have had anywhere 12 euros fantastic.
This one looks a bit well done for my liking, but I am sure you enjoyed it….especially with copious red vino.(y)

I once ordered “Bleu” and had numerous loo trips the next day! Usually now order “À Point” which I find not too dry and not too bloody.

Good to see you have had a great trip. We have enjoyed a couple of stopovers in Gravelines and understand why you find it such an accessible and enjoyable place. :giggle:🍷(y)

For anyone who is interested, this is how the French describe how they like their steaks done:

Bleu – Done on a very hot grill for one minute on each side.

Saignant – Rare. ‘Saignant’ means bloody, so expect this to be very rare. It’s cooked slightly longer on the second side than a bleu steak.

À point – Medium-rare. Note that this is still rare by most British standards. This implies that a steak is cooked a little longer than a saignant one.

Bien cuit – ‘well cooked’. This level will still often have some pinkness in the middle of the meat, so would be equivalent to ‘medium-rare’ by British or American standards. A ‘steak bien cuit’ is cooked until the juices run brown on the surface of the steak.

Très bien cuit (!) – This isn’t technically ‘French’ but it should get you a steak that is totally cooked through!

Well guys got something for you today, been to cite Europe today. I know we shouldn't but havnt been for three years so thought we would have a look see if it's changed, anyway we were away about half an hour, when we got back to the van the sliding door was closed but not locked, thought that's strange but didn't think much about it till we got in and the bedding was on a ruck, still didn't cotton on completely but I went round to the back doors to try them and lo and behold a pair of feet sticking out, and there he was squashed his self under the seats, anyway I stuck my keys in him as hard as I could shouting at him, Julie's in the van filming him getting from under the seat.
Crazy stuff, but as soon as we had turfed him out the police arrive but he was well gone.
Havnt a clue how he got in ,he had somehow opened the sliding door without a scratch onit, without the other doors unlocked, door still works as normal .
