On the road again.

Have fun Chaser, why the chunnel?, I know its very convienient, especially for those that do not travel well on boats, but is it not still stupidly priced over the cost of the ferries?
Hope you are lucky with the weather over there.(y)

Simple reason is this time the crossing was already paid for because we didn't use it coming back last time when we flew back and left the van and that had been paid for with Tesco vouchers so we just kept it and changed it so we only had to pay for one way.
But we will be looking at ferry next time.

Last night we stopped here, £15 but we needed to empty before the train and it's only twenty minutes away, so bit the bullet and paid and had beans on toast instead of a pub meal.
Very nice folks if anyone is wanting a stop before tunnel or ferry.

Definitely.

I’m surprised you are going via the Tunnel. Can I ask how much your crossings have cost?

We find it too expensive now.
See post #33.

We wouldn't use the tunnel again but go from Newcastle or Hull as by the time we add on fuel to Kent and an overnight stop or two Newcastle or Hull would be about the same price as the tunnel.

As I explained in an earlier post one way was already paid for with a changed crossing that we had from last year, so just booked another to keep it straight but we have used up all the Tesco vouchers now so will be looking at ferry next time if there is a next time, ryanair is very tempting now with these prices.
From where we live we can be at east midlands in twenty minutes and get a flight to anywhere in Europe for way less than the diesel in the van and be there in three hours, with no M1, M25, M20.
Makes you think.
I think this one way was about £150 , I didn't book it Julie did.

Yeah very strange place , walls covered in all sorts of signs and instruments, the floor in the bar slopes a foot in front of the bar , it all looks level till you start going uphill, very strange but very chatty barman, likes his cash. (y) :giggle:
Sounds like somewhere we'd enjoy

Are you off to Baker Street? Nice to see youve got blue skies.

Yesterday was pretty gray and mizzely so not much to report, we drove down to bolougn and had a wander about but then came back to gravelines and dinner in baker street but only the run of the mill stuff so nothing much to write about. BUT this morning the sun is blazing down so we will see what happens.

No it's still nice here , warm out of the wind.
We are at bourbourg market, it's in a different place as the market place is all dug up, looks like they are going to put down them white cobbles like everywhere else in France :(
