Oh dear. Got a bit of a problem!!

To add to their problems, I wouldn't be surprised if they get into trouble with the police for taking the vehicle there.

The authorities in that neck of the woods have been really clamping down on campervans / motorhomes going on beaches in non designated locations. And certainly no overnighting.

What a hellish situation to get into!

It look as though they were travelling along the track and misjudged the edge or the edge gave way.

+1

Looking at the soft sand that it is resting on and the line of the seaweed/jetsam it will be above the water line, but to be sure I'd be spending my time building a sea wall around the vehicle.

I'm guessing they'll pivot it around and dig a trench alongside the inner wheels then pull it over.
If they can get suitable recovery vehicle which can access the track without falling off itself, they can winch it sideways onto it's wheels, albeit at an angle onto the ledge, it should stay there as it won't have the 'momentum' of the fall to take it over again, they'll then have to slowly drive off the ledge and turn the vehicle round, then angle it sufficiently to be able to climb up safely onto the track and back the way they came.

Those beasts always look so top-heavy, If owned one, I'd deffo want a good quality inclinometer in it.

They just need a defender with a winch 👌👍
I agree, but not much room to work in though, probably something on top of the cliff with a pulley and the 4wd to the side of the mog, that setup would provide 3-1 mechanical advantage, but I'd expect damage...

Hope they get it sorted.

Cheers

Probably done very little damage , as probably no forward speed as it went over , have righted a few vehicles that were blown over in high winds with minor damage eg broken side mirrors . The hardest part will be getting the correct angle of pull with the winch .

I bet his plates were broken 🥴

I am thinking the only recovery vehicle that could get down there without the risk of the same happening would be a fork Lift.
I agree, I dont think the police are going to be very sympathetic either.
It will be interesting to see how they get recovered eventually, hope those on social media will keep us posted.

I don't think it's going to be that easy, if it's just righted it's going to come down on the ledge that probably tipped it over.

Probably thought they were going to show off their off road ability and got caught out.

Does anyone have an update?

I’m interested to see how they go about righting they vehicle.

don’t forget about the environmental impact… leaking diesel and engine fluids from breathers / filling points into beach sands and marine waters…
that is a pretty significant issue and could have major clean up costs associated with it
