Norway reached !

Next 2 days I was running high temp so the Nortrip site we went to is a bit of a blur, was a desolate farm that we took 2 ferries to ( who knew the ferries there only ran every 2 hours and you have to reverse on when they arrive ) answer everyone else in queue for Other Ferries who were snickering at us as we waited. People on farm were lovely but the hard standing was a patch of gravel some way off, farm was full of peacocks, snakes ( caged) and it was all ‘ a bit funny’ as youngest grandson says.
Hot footed off island - shop at the ferry was 24/7 card opening unmanned - very hi tech compared to farm.
Arrived in Etne after a bit more reversing, little campsite on waters edge a bit old fashioned some hook up had 2 pin plugs, but again a jaw dropping drive.
InStavanger we parked in a car park and walked into town where there was an unexpected flotilla of steam boats in the harbour and a lot of 1920s cars .Found a street with hippy-type cafes and shops- very different , then a car park in Øldberg for the night

Then on to Flekkiford as we had some time before next night, which was initially a boring drive along the coast - advertised as a tourist route but initially only for tourists who adore fields of potatoes and barns…. But then it turned into a landscape of smooth magma, black and grey , covered by glaciers in another age and eroded down to the magma by time. Pictures won’t do it justice , mine certainly won’t, but it is IMO a must see….
Then a comfortable day early for ferry we parked in Kristiansand ready for leisurely day only to discover all ferries cancelled for next 2 days some storm approaching which made drowning more likely. Panic and chaos as we planned alternative routes to get to Calais for Friday, much searching of net and last min we got a late ferry that day with a different provider and I hacked n sniffled over th Hertshalls arriving at 8, couldn’t get into the aire nearby so parked on street, up n at em this morning, many discussions about Where to Go and What About Hamburg … blown about on motorway like a leaf😱😱😱 now at this place tonight , walked into town(there isn’t one !) for Sittensen tomorrow for a stroll after Hamburg if we get through roadworks

* was over £100 each 😱😱😱😱😱😱( today’s first post - figured the sensitive souls won’t be reading this fully )❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

We leave on Friday next week, I, set up with youtube and tiktok, even bought a drone.
This might be useful for you if you haven't considered these yet...

UK Operator and Flyer registration (about 1 hour to get. Operator required in UK)

EASA operator / flyer registration for EU (and I believe EEA)
Required in EU.

FPV Drone association.
£5m public liability, but limited to UK territories.

Don't know about public liability insurance in EU

Fpv covers UK and EU

Also, app called Drone Assist, useful for checking hazards and no fly zones.

Great post, we are thinking of Norway for next year. Thinking of late spring or late summer/Autumn. (August/ September)
Do you have winter tyres fitted to your vehicle ?
