Non apologetic, smug arrogance .

I think we should have a straw pole on this, especially being a Carthago Owner albeit a light weight one.
I am guessing that 90% of people would drive over any EHU cable or indeed hosepipe if they were run over a roadway access on any camp site?
If the owner of the cable/hosepipe was that concerned about them being damaged, then it should either be removed, or an allowance be made that it will be driven over if left out.
As far as being accused of arrogance/negligence even, it would be me that complained to the cable owner for not moving it or making allowance for me and others to have road access.

This hook up lead IS NOT across an access road it is from the power supply bollard to my pitch

This hook up lead is not across an entrance road it is from the power supply bollard to my pitch which he could of a voided had he been bothered to, but to go over it twice was just beyond belief

Can't see any pitches looks like a free for all. Cables anywhere on that bit of tarmac would be game for running over.

Rather he ran over my hook up lead, than crash into my Winnebago as he wasn't looking where he was going in case some lunatic left his hook up cable across the gap like a trip hazard ;)

Especially as we all know how flimsy Cathargo's are!

Well if you'd created a bottleneck, he'd have to drive over it twice to get out of the gap!

Remember the is MHF so take everything with pinch of salt, buy some Lithiums and you'll not bother plugging in again any way so won't have to moan about people having to drive over your lead, when you'd left it draped haphazardly across the road:whistle2:

The black bucket with the white sign on it is the pitch next to me, there is plenty of access to it at the back of my Frankia which he chose not to use so drove between the bucket sign and the bolllardover over the cable, then Mr Smug decided to park up under the Grandstand. Oh no bottle neck here.

I mean this in the nicest possible way, I would have probably driven over it as well.

Sorry.

I am in the who cares, it’s a hook up camp. In fact, in France when I was tugging it was the norm on a gravel road. That same cable is still fine and now in the motorhome 6 years later.

Pressure = Force / Area
A high pressure system will concentrate the weight on a small area
A low pressure system will spread the same weight over a bigger area

Putting your foot under a high pressure tyre is very different from putting it under a low pressure tyre.
Motor home threads often talk about pressures in excess of 60psi ie more than 4x atmospheric pressure.

Gordon (Not the least bit worried about my EHU lead)

Having worked for a cable manufacturer and seen the affect of minor damage when on test, I hate to run my cable over campsite roads however it is inevitable so cest la vie.

If you were concerned about a vehicle running over your cable why didn’t you park nearer to the bollard?

fleurette, please try to not let it spoil your week/ weekend, I’m sure they’ll be no harm done to the cable, honestly, it’s not worth getting worked up about.

Whilst you’re at Cheltenham, for a bit of fun you could open a book on which Motorhomes are more likely to drive over the cable.

I’ll start it for you:

Carthago 4/11 - Fav for obvious reasons
Hymer. 4/7 - Strong contender
Morello Ev - Could go close
Frankia. 2/1 - Bit edgy on current form (sorry)
Burstner. 4/1 - Anything’s possible
Rapido. 10/1 - Tend to be very considerate (oh, I have one)
33/1 the field. No chance

Enjoy Cheltenham

4 wheel Tag axle rear pressure/tyre is about 2N/mm2
2 wheel Single axle is about 4N/mm2
Shoe on a foot is also about 4.5N/mm2
So more likely to damage the cable walking over it.

Cycling over it now there's a different problem :ROFLMAO:

or indeed hosepipe if they were run over a roadway access on any camp site?
if pressurised hosepipes usually burst.

Why aere they driving across pitches & not using the road?

Blimey! Firstly, although I aspire to be a Carthago driver one day, I probably wouldve driven over it also in my lowly Adria A Class, so we too wouldve had an interesting conversation, which I may have found quite amusing.
on a more serious note, please try and forget about it and enjoy your stay, but also realise that it’s more a car park than an official campsite, innocent mishaps occur. As I’ve said earlier we have something large or small drive over our EHU every day on our drive without any issues! Now RELAX 😜

Swift. 100/1 (as they will probably break down before they arrive)

looks like a pay & display car park to me. That is a C&MC campsite??
