Re car parking, many NT places are fine for larger vehicles but some are not, and some are down very narrow roads. Best to check each property/venue before setting off. On balance more good than difficult places so we feel membership is worthwhile.

Bodiam Castle, East Sussex, TN32 5UA.Still looking fir any suggestions for additional spots on the map.
Criteria - easy to park 8m+ Motorhome and you can get a cup of tea. Not limiting it to NT.
Thanks
The Castle Inn opposite also allows stopovers in the Pub carpark should you wish.Bodiam Castle, East Sussex, TN32 5UA.
Plenty of parking for large Motorhomes, cafe and right next to the river & short walk to the station for the steam train.
Excellent. Will let you know when added.2 more i have just thought of / remembered from 2019:
Both in Scotland:
Falkirk Wheel
Kelpies, ( needs to be seen at night as well)
Both are a great day out, and both allow over-nighting in their car parks., if you just ask
Thank you willlet you know when addedBodiam Castle, East Sussex, TN32 5UA.

Have you read my post above ?Officially reciprocal membership doesn't include free parking... but it depends on each property... sometimes I've found it free, sometimes pay & display.
Honestly, Langtoftlad the NTS car park card/sticker thing (green this year) really does work at all NT car parks, whether pay & display or not, as long as you leave it visible. There’s no fee to pay. You’re right in saying that the barcode on the NTS membership card doesn’t work, but the exemption allows you to use your NTS car park card instead. But it doesn't at their pay & display sites... as the NTS card doesn't have the necessary barcode.
Anyway neither the tread title, nor the OP mention NTS.
So my post remains valid.
.
Glad to have been of assistance! Hope to get a lot of value from our membership this year. Here we are then, a reply from National Trust .......
Hi Chris
Thanks for your email.
As a member of the National Trust of Scotland as long as you display your car sticker that will entitle you to free parking at all car parks which belong to the National Trust.
I hope this helps and we look forward to seeing you at our properties in the summer.
Kind regards

So thanks to ManTheVan for correcting me, I think I'll be re-newing my membership
Yes and No. No you can't just stay overnight on a NT car park, but on some NT sites you can book if they have dedicated parking bays. Stourhead is one for example. Not cheap but includes admission. Being a NT member is no advantage though as for reasons to do with NT as a Charity status, they can't do lower prices for members and therefore 'penalise ' non-members. Well that's what they said to me when I asked. You can park your motorhome in NT car parks but not overnight.
Fabulous list.Have a look at this map that ceejayt has created.
NT and Heritage Site advice for larger motorhomes
National Trust, English Heritage sites and the like can sometimes be described as the best services near the motorway. Ideal to stop off and have a cup of tea and a meander. But, if your motorhome is 8m long or more you may find this map useful to tell you which sites are easier to access. Red...www.zeemaps.com
ThanksFabulous list.
As a local, I'd put Brockhampton (Herefordshire) on the amber list - a mile or so of single track road with limited passing places.
If you are thinking of joining, this may save you a few pence,
Buying the Scotch national Trust membership, its cheaper, (£87 for two for 60 years old compared to the English National Trust cost of £120 for two), and allows you full access to the English national trust sites.
Thanks. Will make sure it is in the mapWe went to Stourhead CL (CMC) a couple of weeks ago. We stayed for 3 nights at a cost of £63 - hard standing with EHU and two adults.
We are NT members as well. It was absolutely wonderful to be able to wander around the estate after closing time when it wasn’t busy. It was very peaceful and would definitely go again.
There was plenty of room for large Motorhomes in the car parks as well
Because I'm ScottishI cant think why you would want to rob the English NT so as to give it to the Scottish NT
I am a member of the NT but it was a close run thing, but may change sides next year as I'll spend a lot of time in Scotland now I'm retiredBecause I'm Scottish
If thinking of joining check out joining the Scotland National trust same benefits you can use in England/Wales but joining Scotland is cheaper or at least was, soNever been a member but we are considering joining.
I know there is an ongoing discussion with CAMpRA regarding overnighting but what is the parking generally like for motorhomers.
Pointless joining if we wont be able to get in the car parks.
6.7 m motorhome.
Thanks in advance.

I believe soLooking at it from another angle, does my NT membership allow me free access and parking in Scotland?
