Lenny HB at the risk of seeming very sceptical, maybe they set their 'Extras' prices to make the 'compulsory' extras in the new price appear that the price increase is reasonable.
All converters charge silly prices for extras but if the extras included in the price increase are ones you would have ordered anyway, (which they were) it doesn't make any odds.

I've just traded my van for the new one I got £5k less than what I paid for it 7 years ago, OK I spent about 8 or 9k on bits I've fitted.
7 years 120 nights a year even in cheap hotels would be around £60K then about another £25k plus eating out.
I think I'll stick with Motorhoming.

That’s makes great sense to me Lenny HB

may I ask what you’ve traded up to btw?

Unless they are items one could have fitted cheaper afterwards.
A bit difficult to fit a higher power engine (chipping is not the same) & auto gearbox plus the upgraded brakes that come with it and large garage door on other side.
All extras we would have had and not anything you would do after.

Am I the only one that thinks shorter vans would be better with a transverse bed option and a bit more lounge or kitchen space, after all you only sleep in the bed ;)

I understand the logic but I don't think the wife would be happy with me clambering over her 3 or 4 times a night to go for a pee 🤣🤣🤣

We don't get on with transverse beds had them in a couple of hire vans before we bought our first van. Didn't get on with them when we were 57 certainly wouldn't at 74.
Also the Compactline with the transverse bed has a much smaller garage.
No man wants a small garage. 🤣

Currently in Montenegro and available between €14 to a max of €20-25 with ehu, and a swimming pool or a beach over the road.

Where is a campsite for €14 a night please.
We were there in April and couldn't find a site or anywhere for that matter at that price.

I guess I will never know

Quick update with evidence that the market is softening but still active. Our new van stuck at the original asking price for at least 2 weeks, (possibly longer, but that's when I first looked) but interest picked up quickly when private sale vendor dropped price by ~6%.

Make sure you go to the Pagani factory as well.

Never made it to the Pagani place but will be driving over next year hopefully and do that and a few more then.
Disappointed a bit with the Ferrari places as it’s only an hour at best to each place☹️☹️

Coming back to this thread, does anyone know when we will know 2025 prices? I seem to recall the sales people at the nec in February speaking about new prices after that. Maybe just sales patter

I suspect that they are still trying to shift a load of old stock. And don't want to put prices out on 2025 stuff as they are hoping for a miracle so they can still charge way too much. Won't be long before the end of the season see how many are still on autotrader then.

There must be some bet the prices are low given what the dealers work on as a margin on trade ins

BCA at Nottingham auction motorhomes once a month. Have bought a few over the years. However Covid put an end to open auctions and now they are dealer remote only.

Well travelled
Thing is, if you have a moho to sell/part-ex then do you do it now whilst prices are high ? or wait for prices to drop ?

The way I see it, is, do it regardless as it's swings and roundabouts, we got a good price (in my view) for our previous Hymer against another one that we both liked. I'll admit I thought it was a bit overpriced by £2 or £3k, but that's the problem of living so remotely, but I looked at it like this, if you are spending £75k whats £2k as a percentage ? we could spend hundreds of pounds and days travelling the country looking at mohos.

The other 'win' for us, is the deal was in Inverness so only down the road if anything goes wrong, rather than 500 miles away.
